Mongolian Police Use ‘Medieval Instruments’ to Torture Dafa Practitioners

The 1st Detention Centre of Hohhot City, Inner Mongolia Province, detains Dafa practitioners in separately cells with ordinary criminals.

A female Dafa practitioner held a hunger strike for her right to uphold the principles of "Truthfulness, Benevolence and Forbearance". The police force fed her, and then forced a "Torture Instrument" on her. (both hands handcuffed together, the handcuff then locked onto the foot cuffs. Meanwhile, both feet shackled and chained. This prevents one from straightening up his/her back and legs. One cannot walk, sit or lie down properly; hence one is unable to function normally). The police continued to illegally apply this torture instrument on Wang Xia's agonised body for more than ten times and for periods of up to three months.

They tried to justify this heinous brutality by pointing out that she hadn't cooperated with reciting the "Prison Rules" and "Rules of Conduct," and that she would not wear the detention centre's uniform.

While being escorted between detention centres this lady and Zhang Guilan (who is more than 60 years old) meditated with such serenity that the police were scared. As soon as they arrived at their destination the director and a female warder attached to them a torture instrument weighing more than ten pounds. This was attached to them for as long as seven days. Wang Xia's whole body was full of scabies due to this persecution.

Another Dafa practitioner refused to tell the police her name and home address. A female warden, put this cruel instrument on her and left it on her for two weeks. After this time, the police took off her handcuffs but left the shackles and foot chains on. This practitioner's hands were very swollen, the skin on her wrists was lacerated, and her fingers were numb.

A 62-year-old lady Dafa practitioner and associate professor at the Inner Mongolia Agricultural University was illegally jailed four times for her determination to practice Dafa. For clarifying the truth about Falun Dafa to people, she has been illegally jailed since July 13, 2001. It is said that she held a hunger strike several days ago to protest her illegal detention and as a result was transferred to Tuzuoqi Detention Centre in Hohhot City. The elderly Zhang Guilan was also transferred to Tuzuoqi Detention Centre for her appeals.
