Cambridge University students organised activities in the King's College welfare office in November. The activities were designed to ease the tension brought about by studying and allow students to have a broader understanding of the community. Falun Gong practitioners received heartfelt support when taking part in the event last year, so the organisers invited Falun Gong practitioners to participate in it again.

Activities were held in two adjacent halls. The first hall featured different types of food from around the world which were freely available. The second hall only featured a few stalls, including a Chinese medical booth, a Chinese and British natural therapy teaching booth and Falun Gong practitioners' booth.

One girl from China came to the hall and was shocked to see people freely practising Falun Gong. In China, Falun Gong has been banned for eight years and millions of practitioners have suffered persecution at the hands opf the Chinese communist regime. The Chinese girl did not realise that Falun Gong is freely practised and supported in countries outside communist China, so she found the organizers of the activities and reported the situation. The organisers told her that Britain is a free society and people can practise Falun Gong. Her actions were a vivid lesson for the Western organisers who live their life in a free society, giving them a glimpse into how the Chinese Communist Party gets away with persecuting Falun Gong - by turning the Chinese people against it.

In the second exhibition hall, the host of the natural therapy booth was attracted by Falun Gong’s tranquil music and graceful exercise movements. She asked to learn the practice on the spot and spent almost half of the exhibition time at the Falun Gong booth. In the break time, people from all four booths came over to learn more about Falun Gong.
