Ireland: Citizens of Cork Call for an End to the Persecution

On the 3rd of November 2007, Irish practitioners arrived in Cork, Ireland’s second largest city, to promote Falun Gong and let people know about the eight years of human rights abuses against the practice.

During the activity, Cork citizens lined up to sign the petition in support of stopping the persecution of Falun Gong by the Chinese Communist Party. Many people read the posters on display and asked practitioners questions as to how such a brutal persecution could be happening. Others were shocked by the revelation of the organ harvesting from living Falun Gong practitioners in China and questioned the viability of holding the Olympic Games in such a horrific environment.

The demonstration of the five sets of Falun Gong exercises interested a lot of people, some of whom asked for details of where the practice site was situated and stated their wish to learn the exercises and get to know more about the practice of Falun Gong. Practitioners all felt that their visit to Cork was well worthwhile.
