Practitioner Wei Rongdi from Benxi City Suffers Ill Health After Detention

At 4:25 pm on April 26th, 2007, Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Wei Rongdi from Benxi City, Liaoning Province was arrested in a shop she worked in, by police officer Zhang Xiangjun (male) and another young police officer from Beidi Police Station.

The police told her that she needed to go the police station for some minor issue. However, when she arrived at the police station, she was immediately handcuffed and interrogated. The police asked her if she practised Falun Gong. Ms. Wei Ringdi replied "Yes." Subsequently, she was taken to a hospital for a "physical check-up." Afterwards, she was taken to Dabailou Detention Centre. Twenty days later, she became ill and developed a large bump in her lower abdomen.

On June 18th, 2007, Ms. Wei Rongdi could not eat and started to have difficulty breathing. She lost control of her bladder and bowels. She also suffered insomnia. Now she is on medical parole. She has no source of income and lives by doing odd jobs at the shop. Now, she has no money to see a doctor. Furthermore, her child is at university and also has difficulty getting by.
