On the afternoon of September 2nd, 2007, Ms. Wei Jianxin, a Falun Gong practitioner from Aohan Qi Prefecture, Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, had just returned home after shopping out of town. She was taken into custody by Gong Chuanxing (male), director of the State Security Division in Aohan Qi, along with several thugs who had been awaiting her return.

The police officers then broke into her home and searched it. They conducted a body search of Ms. Liu, who had accompanied Ms. Wei on her shopping trip. They confiscated an MP3 player and 600 yuan1 in cash, and demanded that Ms. Liu pay them 2,000 yuan. They demanded that Ms. Liu pay 500 yuan first within a short period of time. Ms. Liu made a living as a street vendor and her financial situation was very challenging. She finally gathered 400 yuan with great difficulty and gave that to Gong Chuanxing. He threatened Ms. Liu not to disclose this matter, revealing his guilty conscience.

Ms. Wei was sent to a forced labour camp, where she resisted the persecution. Fearing her influence, the guards threatened to transfer her to another location. Ms. Wei's daughter, who was working in another city, went to the labour camp to enquire about her mother's whereabouts. The guards responded that they did not know. Currently, Ms. Wei's whereabouts are unknown.
