Poem: Behind These Walls

Behind these walls
of cold and grey
crimes under a bitter silence.
Hours crouching
sleepless nights spent standing
the ‘party’ unbridled
cultured in violence.

Forced into labour
for one’s right of belief
nameless and tortured
can you hear their calls?
Made in China
from blood and tears
countless thousands remaining
behind these walls.

(For the myriad of hearts - those practitioners of Falun Gong and other prisoners of conscience who have fallen and those who have been tempered through the injustice and brutality of the laogai system under the Chinese Communist regime).
