On July 7th and 8th, 2007, in the busy city centre of Ankara, Falun Gong practitioners raised awareness and collected signatures, disclosing the CCP's persecution of Falun Gong, including the removal of organs from living Falun Gong practitioners and calling on people to together help end the persecution.
A gentleman said, “Haven’t we heard how good the economy is in China? We have never thought that such a horrible thing is happening right now.”
More and more people came to look at the exhibition boards. On several occasions there were lines of people waiting for a turn to sign the petition condemning the persecution. After learning the truth, several policemen came over and signed the petition expressing their support and said to practitioners, “You have done well”. Practitioners explained what Falun Gong and how this practice teaches the principles of “Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance” and improves both people’s health and mind. A few people wanted to learn Falun Gong immediately and one of them borrowed a book from practitioners.
A gentleman working for the Government bought soft drinks for practitioners expressing his support after signing the petition. He said, “You are very kind and I support you.” Someone working in a shop nearby brought a package of pizzas for practitioners and said, “You are really good people. You have done a good job and I wish you success!”
During the process of applying for the events, Falun Gong practitioners further discussed the persecution of Falun Gong happening in China with the government. Many officials there expressed their support of practitioners’ activities andl many officials wanted to learn Falun Gong.
During July 4th and 6th, the Turkish Organ Transplant Association held the Ninth International Seminar on Organ Transplantation. Several Falun Gong practitioners delivered some information to those who attended. They said that they already knew about organ harvesting from live Falun Gong practitioners in China, to which they would pay attention to.
