Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Ke Gui'e lives in Xiazhang Village in Dafasi Town, Wuxue City, Hubei Province. At the beginning of May 2007, she was taken to a brainwashing centre against her will. After one month, Ms. Ke still firmly kept her belief in Falun Dafa, and she refused to accept the brainwashing. Authorities would not let her return home.
On March 13th, 2007, Ms. Ke was reported when informing the Bafengshan Village leader Li Zhaoqin about the true nature of Falun Gong. Policeman Wang Tao from the Town Station seized five hundred yuan1 cash from her husband and detained both of them for ten days. Police extorted from them another seven hundred yuan afterwards. Later on, they colluded with Wuxue City 610 Office2 and forced her into a brainwashing centre, never intending to return her money.

1. "Yuan" is the Chinese currency; 500 yuan is equal to the average monthly income of an urban worker in China.
2. "The 610 office" is an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems.
