On March 12th, 2007, Feterico Mallor, former Chairman of UNESCO and now Chairman of the Peace and Culture Association wrote a letter to a Falun Gong practitioner expressing his concern about the persecution of Falun Gong by the CCP. The letter is as follows:

Dear Sir,

I have learnt the fact that since 1999, Falun Gong, a spiritual movement, has been persecuted until now in China.

All reports by the Human Rights Committee of the UN, the Parliament of the European Union, the Parliament of NATO and organisations of human rights such as Amnesty International and Human Rights Observation have mentioned the cruel violation and persecution of the most basic human rights by the CCP government. It has caused many innocent people to suffer from the persecution because of their faith.

As the Chairman of the Peace and Culture, my mission is to vindicate the freedom of all people, respect the truth, respect justice equality and tolerance. Such a situation of suppressing individual freedom in faith by force, I firmly oppose it.

At the same time, the persecution of Falun Gong, a peaceful and spiritual movement, also emerges from the CCP’s weak system of human rights.

I feel very worried after reading the REPORT INTO ALLEGATIONS OF ORGAN HARVESTING OF FALUN GONG PRACTITIONERS by Mr. Kilgour.

To sum up, as an independent organisation of the government, I will always and completely pay attention to the facts disclosed by the REPORT and I will try my best to stop the persecution.

I hope the persecution will end as soon as possible.

Sincerely,

Feterio Mallor
