From the 5th to the 12th of November 2006, Bodo City in the northern part of Norway held a week-long “Bodo International Week 2006”. The international week aimed at introducing the United Nations’ Millennium Plan to the public, which was signed in the Year 2000 by the heads of member states of the UN with the goal of creating a better world.

To this end, the Language School in Bodo held a series of activities. Performances by Falun Gong practitioners added colour to the school’s International Week.

The language school set up an exhibition hall, where people from over thirty countries introduced indigenous history and culture at their stalls. On display were traditional costumes, artefacts, and ethnic food for sampling.

Through careful preparation and layout Falun Gong practitioners organised their exhibits around the theme of “God-given culture, Falun Gong spreads around the world”, demonstrating the beauty of Falun Gong. The video of New Tang Dynasty TV’s New Year Gala 2005 was shown continuously throughout the day. Practitioners also displayed traditional Chinese costumes and the props for a lion dance.

All these attracted a great deal of interest. Many took the initiative to learn about Falun Gong and ask practitioners to demonstrate the exercises.

The Chinese food specially prepared by the practitioners was also very popular.

In the entertainment programme, practitioners won warm applause for their exercise demonstration, lotus dance and an Erhu (a two-stringed bowed instrument) solo. Traditional-style Chinese music compoesed by practitioners resounded in the hall, cleansing everyone’s heart.
