Dutch journalist students want to expose the truth about Falun Gong

A few days ago I received a call from a journalist student who had a request. She had an assignment at school to interview someone who had received some media attention lately. She decided to interview a Falun Gong practitioner, since Falun Gong had been in the Dutch news so much in the past few weeks. And so she found me through the Dutch Falun Dafa website.

She said she had chosen this subject, because she had a personal interest in Falun Gong and wanted to learn more about it. Of course I gladly accepted the invitation. We held an interview and she asked many questions. I was able to explain to her the true situation of the persecution.

“Coincidentally” another journalist student from another city in the Netherlands called me just after the first student called me, and guess what, he had a similar assignment at his school and also chose Falun Gong to be his subject. This student had already read something about Falun Gong and knew that the persecution was unjustified and illegal. He told me, he chose to interview me because he wanted to let the truth about the persecution be heard, even if it was only to his classmates. I was touched to hear this and of course I gladly accepted his request as well.

The assignment of the last student was a little bit bigger. He came with 2 of his classmates and they brought a camera to make some video footage for the story. It took a lot of trouble to hold the interview, both for them as for myself. The 3 students lived in different parts of the Netherlands. One of them lives in the most northern part, whereas I live in the most southern part. It would take him at least 4 or 5 hours to get to my town! After changing my schedule at work, we were able to make an appointment at 14:00. However their train was very late and they were not able to make it in time. I was not able to change my appointment anymore and we had to postpone it. But since they were already on their way, we decided to do it in the evening. So they waited at the train station from 14:30 until 18:00. Finally the interview could be held successfully. The interview will be broadcast at the journalist school.

The first student had some trouble as well to meet me. Her train was stuck and it was already late. She had to turn back and we had to make a new appointment. Luckily the second time there were no more trouble. I guess they all had some tribulations to overcome, but they didn’t give up and it was all worthwhile. I gave all of them a CD-rom with the books and the video clips of the exercises on it.
