In the middle of November each year, an industry expo is held in Yamato in Kanagawa County, Japan, a small city next to Yokohama. Because of the convenient transportation to Yamato and the rich and colorful programmes, the event often attracts numerous local citizens and people from surrounding areas to come to shop and enjoy the entertainment.

In order to complement the expo, the Yamato Citizen Activity Centre (YCAC) which was established a year ago, also held a celebration during these two days. As a registered organisation of the YCAC, practitioners from the Falun Gong Club also attended the activities. They set up a booth to introduce Falun Gong and demonstrate the exercises to the local people.

The practitioners' booth, decorated with hand-made lotus flowers, was very attractive and drew many people's attention. On the morning of November 12th, the Mayor of Yamato came to attend the first anniversary celebration of the YCAC. A Western practitioner presented lotus flowers and some documents introducing the Falun Gong Club. Through this activity, practitioners established better communication with the local people, which helped people to get a better understanding of Falun Gong.
