On October 8th, 2005, the "Great Harmonious World Chorus" held a non-profit performance on King George Square in downtown Brisbane with a theme to disclose the Chinese Communist Party's brutal persecution of Falun Gong and call for the rescue of young practitioners being persecuted in China. Participants in the performance also included "Lotus Culture" and a dozen children of the Global Rescue Car Tour group from Sydney. These children spent their vacation in the over 1000 kilometres (625 miles) car tour from Sydney to Brisbane to explain the facts of the persecution of Falun Gong in China to people along the tour.

The performance program was rich and colourful, including song, Chinese traditional dance, musical instrument playing and waist drum performances. Around the square truth-clarification poster boards and banners were displayed. Many passersby, including Chinese tourists, stopped and looked at the poster boards and accepted handouts.
