On the afternoon of September 24th, practitioners on Ghanali Island in southern Spain collected signatures in the city centre to protest against the persecution of Falun Gong in China. The practitioners were divided into two groups; one demonstrated exercises and the other handed out leaflets and talked to people who wanted to learn more.

This is the first time that practitioners on Ghanali Island held such an activity. Each practitioner did their best and hoped that this activity would encourage as many people as possible to learn the truth about the persecution of Falun Gong taking place in China. The practitioners made a lot of eye-catching banners and exhibition boards to allow people to see the evil nature of the Chinese Communist Party and the truth about the persecution.

After looking at the banners and the information on the exhibition boards, people said that they were unable to imagine such a cruel suppression of people as the trampling of human rights that is taking place in China. Some people found out more information about Falun Gong from our practitioners. They were shocked and sympathised very much with those who were persecuted. People could not understand why one would suffer such cruel persecution for practising Falun Gong.

A passerby told a practitioner that although he supported leftist thinking, he could not approve of the persecution and torture and requested to sign his name to support Falun Gong and oppose the Chinese Communist Party's persecution.

At the other end of the square, another group was holding an activity as well. A young girl in that group left her activity and came to take a look at the practitioners' exhibition boards. When she saw the pictures of the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners, she was deeply shocked. Before leaving, she not only signed her name but also took a petition with her in order to collect signatures from her colleagues.

When the girl came back, the petition was full. She told the practitioners: "My sister was adopted from China by my parents, yet I did not have an opportunity to know that such terrible thing was happening in China until now. Facing the persecution of the Chinese people by the Chinese Communist Party, we cannot keep silent. We should call upon the Communist Party to stop the persecution. I believe everything that you said. Good luck to you."

Some Chinese people passed by. Some of them did not want to see the pictures and understand Falun Gong because of the lies and propaganda that the CCP has flooded into Chinese society. Some dare not approach practitioners out of fear of the Communist Party. Thus, the practitioners approached them and gave them some information. A number of Chinese walked closer to look at the pictures. When they saw those of the cruel torture, they were very shocked. A Caucasian practitioner gave a handout to a young Chinese man who was very interested in the posters and said to him in Chinese: "Falun Gong is good." The young Chinese man looked at the Spaniard with a high-bridged nose and curly hair in surprise and took the leaflet. The Caucasian practitioner said to him with a smile again: "Falun Gong is good." He responded with a smile and nodded in agreement.
