Radio France Internationale: Falun Gong Practitioners Request China’s Minister of Culture be Barred from Entering the US

According to a broadcast by Radio France Internationale on September 28th, 2005, to the metropolitan Paris and Asia-Pacific areas, in reaction to the planned visit by China’s Minister of Culture, Sun Jiazheng, to Washington DC this October, US Falun Gong practitioners have submitted a letter to the Secretary of State, Condoleezza Rice, requesting that Sun’s entry to the US be denied.

The request was made in accordance to the regulations of the Immigration and Nationalisation Acts, which stipulates the refusal of a visa and the denial of entry to foreign government officials (and their spouses and children) who, within the previous 24 months, have been responsible for, or directly participated in, certain “particularly severe forms of religious persecution.”
