On the 7th July 2005, French practitioners held an anti-torture exhibition in Lisieux to let more people know about Falun Gong and the human rights abuses being carried out against practitioners in China. As well as simulating some of the barbaric torture methods used by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) in attempts to force practitioners in China to renounce their beliefs, practitioners demonstrated the five sets of Falun Gong exercises and gave out leaflets and hand-made paper lotus flowers.

Although it was cloudy with occassional drizzle, reporters from the local newspaper offices “Pays D’Auge, Ouest France and L’Eveil de Lisieux still came and interviewed practitioners. On seeing the anti-torture exhibition and the pictures on display of the CCP cruelly persecuting Falun Gong practitioners, they all were greatly shocked and were concerned for Falun Gong practitioners who are still suffering from persecution in China.

Lisieux is a lively and unpretentious city with a great devotion to Catholicism. Citizens who were passing by the exhibition boards were naturally showing their humane spirit of kindness and honesty. When two ladies from Algeria were looking at the anti-torture exhibition, one of them couldn’t help crying for a long time. Having understood the reason why the CCP are persecuting Falun Gong practitioners, another lady said, “The Communist Party’s system is really inhuman” and she sincerely hoped Falun Gong practitioners can keep up their efforts until the persecution ends.

A father, along with his son and daughter, all signed the petition against the persecution of Falun Gong. Another man insisted on rescuing the practitioner who was locked up in a cage. He calmed down after a practitioner told him that this was a simulation to let people know what’s really happening in China.
