On the second day of the visit to the UK of the Chinese foreign minister Tang, Falun Gong practitioners continued with their peaceful events with a clear message “stop killing, stop persecution”.

Around midday practitioners performed the tranquil exercises of Falun Gong and set up banners along the street directly facing the entrance of Downing Street, where the UK Prime Minister had a 40 minute meeting with Mr Tang. The banners read “Immediately release all Falun Gong practitioners” “343 practitioners have been tortured to death in Jiang regime” as well as “Falun Gong - Truth, Compassion, Forbearance”.

The Chinese delegation had a full view of the messages on the banners as they came into and out of the meeting venue. Many passers by took flyers from the practitioners. A gentleman, dressed in business attire, hurriedly walked past the practitioners but returned to ask for a leaflet before he hurried away. A stage performing artist stopped to ask who is protesting. As soon as he heard that we were Falun Gong practitioners, he immediately grabbed the hands of a practitioner ‘You are Falun Gong! I read everything about you in the newspapers. I know why they persecute you: because they fear your peacefulness, because they can’t control your minds, just as they feared Gandhi’. He offered a lot of advice and good wishes before waving goodbye to the practitioners. Several policemen read our leaflets and discussed with practitioners about the inhuman persecution and the wicked tactics of smear by the Jiang regime. Seeing that a protestor from a different group was at times agitated and aggressive, a policeman told a practitioner “if only she practised your exercises”.

The next scheduled meeting of the Chinese delegation was at Carlton Gardens, London. Practitioners lined the street next to the venue and did the righteous thoughts meditation. The policemen on duty were very impressed with the tranquillity of the practitioners and most stayed inside their vehicles. One commented that he has policed many public events and wished everyone was as peaceful as Falun Gong practitioners.

After the meeting, the UK and Chinese Foreign ministers left in very contrasting ways. The Chinese foreign minister got into his car immediately and left under protection from many policemen and vehicles, while the UK Foreign Secretary of State walked past the Falun Gong practitioners without any accompanying policemen, glancing back several times at the Falun Gong practitioners with a relaxed and pleasant expression. The fear of people of a totalitarian regime and the peaceful goodness of the practitioners was plainly displayed in sharp revealing contrast. The police were so moved by our peacefulness that when practitioners gathered again in the evening at Whitehall Place in London, they offered helpful advice to practitioners. Soon Tang’s motorcade arrived and stopped right across the street from the practitioners, who used a loud speaker to send out messages clearly to Tang and other delegates: “Falun Dafa is good!”, “Stop murdering Falun Gong practitioners”, “Stop the persecution”, “Dismiss the 6.10 office”, “Free Zhao Ming”, “Bring Luo Gan to Justice”. When the function finished and Tang emerged, one German practitioner spoke clearly and peacefully in fluent Chinese: “Falun Dafa is good!” “All the world knows Falun Dafa is good!”

Many UK guests of the event stopped and looked at the banners, others watched us for long periods of time from the windows of the building where the function was held. One gentleman walked out of the building and directly towards the practitioners and said in a solid, firm voice “I support you! You are so peaceful; there is no need for any policemen. I wish you good luck and happiness with what you practice”.
