On the morning of Sunday, May 22, 2005, Falun Gong practitioners from many areas successively arrived at the Taman Perbandaran, Penang to prepare for a Falun Gong exercise demonstration and anti-torture exhibition.

Before the preparation was done, many people who did morning exercises or took walks to relax came over and wanted to find out what was going on. Practitioners talked about Falun Gong and the persecution with them. After learning about the facts, one after another, people signed petitions calling for an end to the persecution of Falun Gong. They made their choice of justice and conscience. While listening to the explanation, some people's eyes were wet with tears.

When the activity was close to an end, several media outlets came to cover the event. Two reporters also signed the petition in support of Falun Gong. In a matter of a few hours, more than 120 people signed the petition.
