On January 15, 2001, the Police Division of Harbin Railway Bureau in Heilongjiang Province illegally arrested Falun Dafa practitioner Liu Wenwei. Within two days, Liu was sentenced to two years of forced labour education. He is currently being illegally detained at Fuyu Labour Camp in Heilongjiang Province. His mother, who is in her 60s, lives by herself. She does not have any income and depends on her only son for her livelihood. (In China, it is very common for elderly parents to financially depend on their children.) In the past year, even with support from relatives and friends, it has still been hard for her to make ends meet. Now, Liu's mother has started to appeal for Liu. She asserted, "My son did not break the law, since the constitution grants a citizen the right to appeal and freedom of speech. On the other hand, the police department is the executor of the law and they are breaking it. By flaunting the banner of the government while overriding the constitution, they have done the most vicious thing. My son is one of the best people around, he is not corrupt or dishonest, nor has he beaten or robbed anyone. A government is supposed to serve its people, not bully them. I don't think the government will let me starve. These prosecutors who broke the law will surely be punished by the law!"

We hope that any government official who still has a conscience and a kind heart will help this elderly mother to redress the injustice. Good deeds are always rewarded with good!
