By a Falun Dafa practitioner in Ireland

From November 19 to 23, 2001, Irish practitioners carried out the third SOS walk across the mid-northern part of Ireland and started to introduce the truth about Falun Dafa and carry out Falun Gong activities, via 9 towns including Athlone, Roscommon, Longford, Cavan, Monaghan and Carrickmacross.

On the way we visited the local Chairman and Members of the Parliament and handed them the Falun Gong truth-clarifying materials. We told them that the purpose of this trip was to tell people the truth about Falun Gong being persecuted in China by Jiang's regime, calling for attention from the Irish government and people to stop the violent crackdown by Jiang Zemin, appeal for the rescue of Zhao Ming, a Falun Gong practitioner detained in a labour camp in China, who is also a student of Trinity College in Dublin. They all expressed their wish to support after listening to us. Some chairmen from the county council would like to pass a resolution to stop the persecution of Falun Gong in China. In Ahlone, the receptionist spent half an hour making numerous telephone calls in order to help us make arrangements to meet the Chairman of the county council. We were touched by her kindness and patience.

We have visited all the local media including newspapers and TV stations and handed them our press statement. Some of them have carried out interviews and took photographs on the spot. One TV station invited us to come back one week later for a twenty-minute live interview. In Ireland, most of the people from the town and countryside are honest and kind-hearted. Very few people rejected our flyer. They found the evil persecution inconceivable after knowing about it. We had brought along more than three thousand truth clarifying flyers, distributing them to the shops along the way. Those shops also agreed to display our flyers in their shops after knowing the truth, even though they usually don't display flyers.
