By a Falun Dafa practitioner in Germany

December 9, 2001

The feats of Falun Gong practitioners have attracted the widespread attention of the people in Germany. Many people are thinking, "What exactly is Falun Gong? Why do so many people practise it and do not hesitate to sacrifice themselves for it?" Because the statements from Falun Gong practitioners and the Chinese Government are so different, more universities and research departments have commenced investigation on the Falun Gong phenomenon.

Once the winter semester begins, the Theology Department in Goettingen University will conduct a new research course - Falun Gong. This course has attracted a lot of university students to attend. The course will be two hours a week and requires the students to read through Zhuan Falun [the main book of Falun Gong], have an understanding of the websites of Falun Gong and analyse the articles defaming Falun Gong from China as well. The aim is to investigate whether Falun Gong is a religion, philosophy or a spiritual movement or something else. The lecturer in charge of the course contacted Falun Dafa practitioners in the University and was prepared to arrange a seminar in the coming January to help the students better understand Falun Gong and the profound meaning behind Zhuan Falun.

As early as August 1998, Falun Gong has been listed as a formal item in the Physical Education schedule by the Physical Education Department in Goettingen University. Now that the Falun Gong research course has been offered in the university as well, we wish that people with predestined relationship can obtain Falun Dafa as early as possible through such means.
