The So-Called "Government-Run Education"

In China, the government-run education centres are in reality brainwashing centres set up by Jiang Zemin, the former Chinese President, and his followers to persecute those who practise Falun Dafa. The "610 Office" [an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems.] at various levels kidnap Falun Gong practitioners from their workplaces or farms, or take them from detention centres and labour camps, and then send them to forced brainwashing classes. Then they shut the gates. They dont even have a name or signs on the front of the buildings. They'd have a building with a small courtyard inside, and these are the government-run education centres, hidden from public view. If this were truly government-run education centres established to help people, why would they be afraid of letting others know about it?

They search practitioners as soon as they come in, checking all of their clothes, and charge the practitioners 3,000 to 4,000 yuan RMB per month. How many months of work does it take for a citizen in China to make that much money? [A typical urban worker in China makes 500 yuan a month] How many years does a farmer in China have to work in order to make that much money? Falun Gong is free of charge, and people can practice or leave at will, yet Jiang claimed that Falun Gong extorts money from others and that people are being duped by it? Then what should we call this government-run education that charges people more than 3,000 yuan? This is exactly like the old Chinese saying, "bandits who kill and plunder call others thieves."

The practitioners that were sent to these brainwashing classes were required to have two chaperones from their workplaces. If they can't find them, then they have to hire people. The chaperones monitor the practitioner's every move. If the practitioner has a problem, their workplace is held responsible. So the chaperones have to follow all sorts of regulations and closely monitor the practitioner. When they have to eat, they go one at a time, so that one person is always with the practitioner. They follow that practitioner when he or she sleeps or eats. They wouldn't let the practitioner leave, go downstairs, talk to others or see their fellow practitioners. Each person has to place an ID tag on his or her chest. The practitioners and the chaperones are monitored 24 hours a day, and thus both the practitioners and chaperones lose their personal freedom and suffer greatly. If a chaperone has to go outside of the centre to buy something, they are required to fill out a form, and they have to be back in a very brief period. The chaperons are quickly worn out, and after a short time they wouldn't continue even if they were paid double, so they are frequently replaced.

The persecutors' lies bombard the practitioners day and night. If a practitioner is steadfast, they continue to persecute him over a long period of time. The police would take this chance to extort more money, or they would send the practitioner to a labour camp, and implicate the practitioner's children, friends and relatives. Their children and other family members are often forced to discontinue their education or are fired from their jobs.

Those who practise Falun Gong consider others before themselves, work without complaint, try to do good for society, and bring harmony to their families--so what kind of people do the persecutors want to "reform" them into?

When they are to be released, the Falun Gong practitioners have to fill out a form and participate in a "graduation ceremony." They are forced to go on stage and praise Jiang Zemin and his regime's persecution against Falun Gong. The victims have to turn around and thank the persecutors. This is the so-called government-run education. How can we not feel that the dignity and the image of our nation are being sullied? China has over 5,000 years of history. Yet in this land, freedom of speech, freedom of belief, laws and basic human rights are being trampled on day and night.
