By Practitioners in China

Wang Weidong is a 31-year-old male practitioner who worked at the Jiaojie Construction Assembly Factory in Acheng City. Around January 1, 2000, he went to Tiananmen Square to appeal for Falun Dafa. He was beaten up by police, illegally detained in Xicheng District Detention Centre and subjected to unimaginable torture. Several days before October 1, 2001, perpetrators complicit with Jiang Zemin's persecution of Falun Gong picked him up from his home with the excuse of "needing to talk with him." They did not let him go until 10 a.m. the next day. These same people frequently came to check up on him in the evening.

Jiu Yinglin, secretary of the Politics Department and Party committee of the factory and Wang Zhongwei, chief of the Jiaojie Town Police Station, threatened Wang Weidong and tried to force him to write letters renouncing Falun Dafa and guaranteeing that he will no longer practise. His employers were forced to dismiss him from his job, and he was given only 130 Yuan (Yuan is Chinese currency. Average monthly income for an urban Chinese worker is about 500 Yuan) as compensation for his basic living needs. From November 2000 to February 2001, local government agents extorted money from him three times, swindling 4,100 Yuan from him in total. The parties responsible include agents from the "610 Office" (a bureau specifically created by the Chinese government to persecute Falun Gong. It has absolute power over each level of administration in the Party, as well as over the political and judiciary branches) of Acheng City, police from Public Security Section of Jiaojie Construction Assembly Factory, Policeman Li Bo from Jiaojie Police Station, Chief of Shancheng Police Station Liu Jiajun, Liu Yinglin, Jiang Weimin, Wang Zhongwei and Zhang Heng.

Liu Guiying is a 51-year-old female worker at the Jiaojie Construction Assembly Factory in Acheng City. In September 2000, she was arrested when she went to Acheng City to copy Falun Dafa materials. The police found her carrying Falun Dafa books and slapped her. She told the police that she would continue her practice of Falun Gong, so they locked her up in a detention centre for twenty days and tried to force her to write a letter guaranteeing that she would no longer practice Falun Gong. Since December 2000, she has been living under constant surveillance by the Public Security Section of Jiaojie Construction Assembly Factory. Liu Yinglin, the secretary of Politics Department and Party committee of the factory, and Wang Zhongwei, the chief of Police Station of Jiaojie Town, threatened her, trying to force her to write a "guarantee letter." On September 3, 2001, while she was clarifying the truth of Falun Dafa, a villager named Wang Lianyou reported her to the police. She was arrested by Jiaojie Police Station and detained at Shancheng Police Station overnight. Liu Jiajun, the chief of Shancheng Police Station, policemen Li Qun, Sun Yongxian, Sun Baodong and Huo Jincheng searched her home, confiscating Falun Dafa books and materials. She refused to reveal the source of Teacher Li's articles and Dafa materials. She was detained in Acheng 2nd Detention Centre for 37 days. Liu Jiajun, the Chief of Shancheng Police Station, forced her to pay 30 Yuan as a "transportation fee." The guards in the detention centre named Li, Guan and Han also extorted large amounts of money from her. From November 30, 2000 to November 10, 2001, corrupt police extorted 720 Yuan from her. The parties responsible include the Acheng Police Station, Jiaojie Police Station and Shancheng Police Station, Policeman Li Bo, Liu Yinglin, Liu Jiajun, Police Chief Xu, Yu Er, and Jiang Weimin.

Zuo Yachen is a 49-year-old female worker in the Jiaojie Construction Assembly Factory in Acheng City. In September 2000, she and other female practitioners went to Beijing to validate Falun Dafa. They were arrested and since they refused to give out their names and addresses, the police beat them up. They were handcuffed and escorted back by a gang of people in the factory who were very actively persecuting Dafa practitioners: Lu Peng, Yu Er, Zhang Fen, and Yu Jiehu. They were detained in the Acheng 2nd Detention Centre where corrupt officials extorted 2,000 Yuan from them. After their release, another 3,000 Yuan was extorted from them. On the evening of December 23, 2000, they were arrested again and subjected to further persecution. Police Gao Peng and Zhang Yanhui forced them to shave each other's heads, fingerprinted them and put them under surveillance. Liu Yinglin, secretary of the Politics Department and Party committee of the factory, Wang Zhongwei, the Police Chief of Jiaojie Police Station, policemen Zhang Heng, Zhao Chunhua and Jiang Weimin threatened Zuo Yachen and tried to force her to write a "guarantee letter" or be sent to an anti-Falun Gong brainwashing class and deprived of compensation.

Chang Shuhua is a 49-year-old female worker at the Jiaojie Construction Assembly Factory in Acheng City. Since July 20, 1999, Wang Zhongwei, the Police Chief of Jiaojie Police Station often brought a bunch of police to her home to harass her and keep her under surveillance. She was arrested when she went to Beijing to validate Falun Dafa. Police kicked and beat her. She and several other female practitioners were locked up in Xicheng Detention Centre and transferred to Erlong Road Police Station. They were denied food, water and the right to use restroom because they did not give out their names and addresses. Three days later, they were escorted back to Xicheng Detention Centre. The police punched them, trying to force them to give out their names and addresses. On November 20, they were taken back to the assembly factory handcuffed. Factory officials active in the persecution of the practitioners include Lu Peng, Zhang fen, Yu Er and Yu Jiehu. She was detained in the Acheng 2nd Detention Centre for nineteen days. On December 20, Wang Zhongwei came to her home to harass and threaten her again. Wang and Liu Yinglin forced her to write a "guarantee letter" or be sent to an anti-Falun Gong brainwashing class and deprived of compensation. She was forced to shave her head and be fingerprinted. She lived her life under constant surveillance. In September 2001, she was reported to police by villagers Li Qilai and Wang Lianyou while spreading material clarifying the truth about Falun Dafa and the persecution. Police from Jiaojie Police Station came to arrest her. She was locked up for a whole night in Shancheng Police Station. Policemen Liu Jiajun, Sun Baodong, Zhang Xuezhuo and an officer by the last name of Wang searched her home and detained her for 37 days. As a result of the torture administered to her, her heart disease recurred. Director Ma and guard Li Jinming ignored her heart trouble and bullied her, saying that she was only pretending. Officials from the 610 Office interrogated her regularly, despite her poor health. From November 2000 to December 2001, 2,874 Yuan was extorted from her by government agents over five separate occasions. The guilty parties include Xi Jinglong, Zhang Heng, Wang Zhongwei, Jiang Weimin, Lu Peng, Liu Yinglin, Yang Qi, Liu Jiajun and another person with the last name of Pei.
