A report from Radio France Internationale's Chinese language broadcasting programme to the Asia Pacific area on the evening of Friday 23rd July 2004:

According to news from Agence France Presse, several hundred Falun Gong practitioners held a demonstration yesterday in Washington DC to expose the crimes of the Beijing authorities in persecuting Falun Gong practitioners.

Organisers of this demonstration hoped that the number of participants would be around 3000 people and that a “Great Wall of Courage” could be formed from the World War II Memorial to the Chinese Embassy in America. At the nearby World War II Memorial, the people could see a banner reading "Prevent China from continuing the genocide".

The organiser said that the persecution of Falun Gong members is the same as the persecution of the Jews by the Nazis in those years. A bulletin stated that the World War II concentration camps killed tens of thousands of people. Similarly, now, Falun Gong practitioners are encountering torture mercilessly, are persecuted to death, and also forced to receive brainwashing. The bulletin indicates that China at present is carrying on the crime of genocide against Falun Gong.

On Saturday July 24th, RFI reported in its Chinese language broadcast programme to Asia Pacific area as well as the greater Paris area:

Agence France Presse news stated that, yesterday, some several hundred Falun Gong members rallied in Washington DC on the fifth anniversary of Falun Gong being officially banned in China, to protest against the Chinese government’s persecution of Falun Gong practitioners.

However, the organiser stated that yesterday there were 3,000 Falun Gong practitioners who turned up and together they built a “Great Wall of Courage”. The organiser mentioned the persecution of Falun Gong in the same breath as the persecution of Jews by Nazis during World War II, and used actors and models to demonstrate torture methods employed by the Chinese police to persecute Falun Gong practitioners in China
