[Dublin] At 4:30pm on Thursday the 29th of November, a press conference was held in Regent House of Trinity College Dublin, Ireland. Corkman Brian Trought told the media and the Irish people about the persecution he received at the hands of the Chinese authorities while trying to peacefully appeal for an end to the persecution of Falun Gong in Tiananmen Square. The room was large, so we decided to also have a poster exhibition at the back of the room.

Trinity students, college media and Ms. Orla Drohan, the secretary for Mr Joe Higgins TD [member of Irish parliament], attended this important press conference. The photographer took pictures of Brian and other practitioners whose family members are currently in detention in China. First a press statement was read and then Brian told his story about how his peaceful appeal to the Chinese government was met with police brutality. The audience listened attentively and there was a solemn atmosphere. Following Brian’s speech, some truth clarifying videos were played which were very moving.

Before the conference finished we had a lively question and answer session, where members of the audience asked questions to the speakers. It was a very positive experience for all who attended.
