On June 28th, nine Australian Falun Gong practitioners travelled to South Africa in an attempt to file a lawsuit against China's Vice-President Zen Qinghong and to peacefully protest against the persecution of Falun Gong. When they were leaving the airport for the Presidential Guest House, a white car suddenly opened fire, targeting Falun Gong practitioners. David Liang, the only one practitioner in the car wearing clothing with the words "Falun Dafa" who was also the driver, was seriously injured; the car was damaged. The evil incident excited intense concern from the international community. The indications are that the Jiang group committed an act of terrorism of employing hired gunmen to attack Falun Gong practitioners.

For one thing, Zeng Qinghong has been in charge of the Communist Party's secret service, notorious for cruelty and cunning. Zeng displayed his cruelty and lack of conscience by advising Jiang on strategies to seize his political power and to persecute Falun Gong. The Jiang group brutally and violently persecutes Falun Gong, employing over one hundred torture methods and hiring gunmen to attack Falun Gong practitioners who "would not fight back when being punched or insulted." Outside China the Jiang group has been utilising secret agents and gangsters to harass Falun Gong practitioners. Additionally, evidence seems to indicate that this is not an ordinary case of shooting and robbing, but an act of terrorism directly targeting Falun Gong practitioners. Additionally, the gunmen deliberately shot at the tires and the driver’s compartment in a high-speed car with the apparent intention of causing the deaths of the driver and passengers.

To expose the Jiang group's act of terrorism of employing hired gunmen to kill Falun Gong practitioners, French Falun Gong practitioners immediately visited the South African Embassy and the Australian Embassy in Paris, giving them materials about Falun Gong and the persecution, and calling on the governments of South Africa and Australia to thoroughly investigate the shooting incident. The government officials of the Australian embassy immediately expressed their willingness to contact the South African government agencies concerned.

On July 1st and 2nd, a group of practitioners arrived at the Chinese embassy and consulate to peacefully protest against the Jiang group's act of terrorism. Being shocked by the act of terrorism, people at all levels of society voiced their support for the protest.
