Poem: Windows Upon the World

To be as windows upon the world,
Hearts like an open sky;
Vast, immeasurable, clouds dispersing
When wings closer to the sun.

Eyes widened seeing all within,
Here, to the most distant horizon,
From tempest and twilight towards
The brightest of dawns.

To be as windows upon the world,
Mind clear as a bird’s lone call
Carrying silence deeper than
Fathomless oceans.

If anything between myself and others,
This one veil of transparency,
Insignificant compared to shoulders
Of armour forged to divide and conquer.

Searching windows where no walls remain
Between myself and ‘Truthfulness, Compassion, Tolerance’.
