A press conference opposite Chinese Embassy, Portland Place W1 on April 25th at 2pm for members of the press to get exclusive interviews.

On Saturday the 24th of April, a symbolic trial of Jiang Zemin will be held outside the Royal Courts of Justice in The Strand and on Sunday 25th at the Chinese Embassy in Portland Place, London. The 25th of April has a special significance, as it is the 5th Anniversary of the original peaceful appeal to the Chinese Government in 1999 by Falun Gong practitioners. Over the last two years, 19 lawsuits have been filed around the world, pinpointing Jiang Zemin as the person responsible for the persecution of Falun Gong and charging him with Crimes against Humanity, Torture and Genocide. This symbolic trial exposes the crimes committed by Jiang, and demonstrates the reality of using legal means to bring him to justice.

A London-based spokesperson for the European Falun Gong Information Centre said, ”Falun Gong practitioners in the UK are initiating a criminal action against Jiang Zemin, former President of China, for his personal responsibility, from 1999 onwards, in the persecution of the 100 million adherents of the ancient Chinese system of moral discipline, Falun Gong, which is centred on Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance. The action concerns the torture of a male UK resident, who has now been granted asylum here.”

PERSONAL TESTIMONIES OF TORTURE VICTIMS

There is abundant documented evidence, which clearly demonstrates Jiang’s guilt. Although the trial is a symbolic one, the testimonies are completely factual and the format as realistic as possible. A Falun Gong practitioner, resident in London who is named in the UK lawsuit, experienced torture at the hands of the Jiang regime and will give a personal testimony. A photo opportunity is available.

JIANG’S PERSONAL VENDETTA

Emerging facts show that ultimate responsibility for the persecution of Falun Gong does not rest directly with the Chinese Communist Regime itself. The reality is more sinister. Just as the most spine-chilling atrocities against humanity have been caused by the evil intentions of one or a few warped individuals, so is the case with persecution of Falun Gong. The Communist Regime in China, with its vice-like grip upon the nation and the media, has been used as a weapon in the hands of dictator Jiang to crush the spirit and bodies of the Chinese people in his twisted personal vendetta against Falun Gong. BACKGROUND

Falun Gong is a traditional Chinese exercise and meditation practice, which emphasises three basic principles – Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance. By the mid 1990s, in China, the number of Falun Gong practitioners had grown into the tens of millions. Many attributed this to its effectiveness in improving the physical health of millions, while also uplifting mental and spiritual well being. In July 1999, Jiang Zemin launched his campaign of persecution against Falun Gong. By the end of 2003, details of 951 deaths have been verified with informed sources putting the true death toll well in the thousands. Hundreds of thousands have been detained, with more than 100,000 being sentenced to forced labour camps, typically without trial, according to the Falun Dafa InfoCenter.
