Chinese artist Zhang Cuiying returned once again to Russia to exhibit her paintings. She had just successfully held an art exhibition in a large city in Eastern Siberia. Mrs Zhang then went on to Pjatigorsk City in the Caucasus Mountains, which is a journey of about ten thousand miles.

The exhibition was held at the central library on March the 22nd. Before the opening ceremony began, many people were already gathering inside the exhibition hall. All wanted to admire Mrs Zhang’s wonderful pictures.

About 300 people attended the opening ceremony. Three television stations and several newspapers reported on the exhibition. A practitioner from Pjatigorsk City gave an opening speech. She introduced Mrs. Zhang’s creative career and her unusual life story. She also introduced Falun Dafa and the persecution in China. Later, Mrs. Zhang gave a speech. She introduced traditional Chinese culture and the differences between western and Eastern culture. She said that through art, mankind can show Buddhas, Daos and Gods and their reverence for them. She also talked about how she was imprisoned and cruelly persecuted in a Chinese labour camp because she practises Falun Gong, and the fact that there are still thousands of Falun Gong practitioners suffering brutal persecution in mainland China. Zhang Cuiying pointed out that this evil persecution was directed by China’s ex-chairman Jiang Zemin and she then discussed the lawsuits against Jiang that are taking place in many countries all over the world. She finished her speech by wishing all the guests a glorious future.

Next, the manager of the central library gave a speech expressing his gratitude to Zhang Cuiying. He presented her with an album of paintings of Pjatigorsk City. After that, the Vice Mayor, who is in charge of culture in Pjatigorsk City, also gave a speech. Apart from appreciation, she expressed that she was surprised and touched by Falun Gong practitioners’ firm resolve and the difficult and beautiful work they are doing. She said Falun Gong practitioners are all good and honest people.

Through this art exhibition a lot of people came to learn the truth and kind-hearted smiles could be seen on everyone’s faces. In the evening, there was a very positive broadcast by the local television station about the exhibition. The report introduced Mrs Zhang and her experiences of practising Falun Gong. It also showed a bit of Mrs. Zhang’s speech about her persecution in China. The mayor of Pjatigorsk City and a journalist from the central television station also plan to visit the art exhibition.
