Belated News from Geneva: Taking to the Streets to let People Know the Facts

On March the 13th, two days before the Annual UN Human Rights Conference began, practitioners from Europe, Taiwan, the United States, Israel and Australia took to the streets in Geneva to let local people and the government representatives taking part in the UN Human Rights Commission know the facts about Falun Dafa and the persecution in China. Practitioners urged everyone to pay attention to the crime of genocide against Falun Gong taking place under Jiang’s direct orders, as well as the fundamental goal of this evil persecution: to destroy basic human morality and conscience.

Though the spring rain continued to fall, practitioners’ pure hearts were not affected by the weather. Everyone went to the city centre and set up a gazebo, hung up posters and displayed Falun Dafa information boards. Practitioners went to different areas of the city to hand out leaflets to pedestrians. Members of the European Choir split up into several mini-choirs to give performances at different places. Led by a temporary conductor, practitioners sang again and again for the passers by from the bottom of their hearts.

March 13th was a Saturday, so the shops were busy; despite the heavy rain, there were still many people on the street. In order to attract more people to look at our display boards and learn the truth, some practitioners started to perform the exercises in the rain repeatedly. Although the rain soaked through many practitioners’ clothes, everyone was smiling.

The kindness and compassion of practitioners moved many kind-hearted people and led them to think: What makes this group of people so full of enthusiasm and compassion? An elderly western lady watched the practitioners demonstrating the exercises from beginning to end as she held an umbrella in the rain. There was a big smile on her face. Later, she walked over to the display of photographs and information and took a careful look.

There were also many busy people who stopped to sign their names on our petition after hearing about Falun Dafa. The day’s activities came to an end with many people knowing more about Falun Dafa and opposing the persecution.
