Dozens of Hong Kong Falun Gong practitioners sat quietly outside the Chinese liaison office in Hong Kong on the mornings of Monday to Wednesday (Feb.16-18). Practitioners requested the Chinese authorities to bring Jiang Zemin and his key accomplices Luo Gan, Liu Jing and Zhou Yongkong to justice. These are the key individuals who are responsible for the persecution of Falun Gong. On Wednesday, several practitioners read an open letter in front of the main entrance of the Chinese Liaison Office. In the afternoon, more than 70 practitioners rallied at Charter Garden and urged people from all circles to help stop the persecution of Falun Gong and bring the perpetrators to justice.

Mr. Chen Yongguang, the spokesman of Hong Kong Falun Dafa Association, stated in the open letter that the suppressors have reached an impasse and they are persecuting Falun Gong practitioners more desperately. In the first 2 weeks of this February, practitioners have learned from sources in China of more than 20 new death cases of practitioners. Furthermore, since September, 2000, at least 8 Hong Kong Falun Gong practitioners and their relatives in Mainland have been illegally detained. None of them has been released as of today.

Several practitioners shared how they or their relatives were illegally detained and sentenced by the Jiang group, how Jiang's followers pressured the Hong Kong Government to bring a false charge against Falun Gong practitioners and how the Jiang group deprived practitioners of their rights to go back to Mainland China to visit relatives and friends.

Practitioners later went to the legislative council to deliver an appeal letter to council members and other officials.
