On 18th October the Foreign Minister Anna Lind answered the citizens’ questions. The focus of the questions was the terrorism attacks in the USA.
As a Falun Gong practitioner I asked, “I appreciate the chance to bring up with you the human rights issues in China. If I were in China now I could have been under arrest and serious torture. Even if I lost my life the Chinese authorities may claim that I committed suicide. I would like to thank you for your constant support to the Falun Gong practitioners. At the moment the Swedish government is focusing on the terrorism attacks in the USA, and the war between the USA and Afghanistan. What is the government’s view on Falun Gong issues now?”
The foreign minister said with a smile, “Because you do not have the chance to talk about Falun Gong issues in China yourselves but I do, and I will bring up the Falun Gong issues. At the moment we are not only focused on international terrorism issues, but also on China’s human rights records. The Swedish government will not compromise at all. We will not forget China’s serious human rights problems, nor will we forget Falun Gong.”
