On December the 10th, World Human Rights Day, Falun Gong practitioners protested outside the Chinese Consulate in Munich against the Jiang regime's violations of human rights in the persecution of Falun Gong. A representative from the International Organisation for Human Rights (IGFM) attended and made a speech to condemn these abuses.

Also, as the Consulate is near a famous German park called Nympfenburg, tourists from Mainland China continued to come and meet the Falun Gong practitioners. Practitioners found that they easily accepted any information offered to them.

During this appeal, practitioners displayed pictures detailing the spread of Falun Dafa around the world, information about lawsuits against Jiang and the head of the "610 Office"* overseas, and pictures of Falun Gong practitioners being persecuted to death. A large poster calls for the rescue of Xiong Wei, a former Berlin Industry University student, who is illegally detained in China for handing out leaflets revealing the facts of the persecution. Many passersby stopped and accepted flyers. Others enquired about how they could offer their support. Members of another group who were protesting about persecution and the violation of human rights in China also asked for Dafa newspapers. They carefully examined the display boards.

The persecution against Falun Gong has claimed over 800 lives after Jiang Zemin issued his 1999 order to suppress those who practise: "ruin their reputations, bankrupt them financially and destroy them physically." During four years of persecution, Falun Gong practitioners and people from different areas of society have continued to hold activities to appeal and protest. Falun Gong practitioners in Mainland China even risk their lives to protest peacefully. However, the Jiang regime refuses to listen them, going against the will of the Chinese people and many members of the Chinese government. Instead of repenting, it intensifies its efforts to intensify the persecution.

In Mainland China, Falun Gong practitioners are tortured with brutal methods such as "Separating a person’s body with five horses" [Ed. note - a punishment used in ancient China. Five horses pull a body in five directions], which tears practitioners' ligaments apart. They burn large areas of Falun Gong practitioners' skin with boiling water; then rub, brush, and scrape the burned area with salt. They brainwash practitioners and force them to do harsh labour. They imprison and kidnap Falun Gong practitioners. They cover up all information about their deeds, using a great deal of manpower and resources to monitor and seal the Internet to block the facts from reaching the outside world. They continue to use spies to cause chaos among Falun Gong practitioners and to blacken the reputation of Falun Gong. Special agents have been sent to pretend they are Falun Gong practitioners, to spread rumours and create trouble among practitioners in order to cause confusion. They also do bad deeds in society under the name of Falun Gong practitioners to stain the reputation of Falun Gong. Overseas, the Jiang regime sends a large number of special agents, some of whom directly threaten overseas Dafa practitioners or the family members of Dafa practitioners into providing them with information about practitioners.
