A Letter to the Editor of Danish Newspaper “Berlingske Tidende”: Hate Propaganda against Falun Gong in China

Many westerners have long been wondering why so many Chinese were involved in irrational and fanatic movements, like the Cultural Revolution for instance. The answer may be found in present day China by studying how people’s opinions about Falun Gong have been manipulated by Jiang Zemin´s regime.

The following items may provide the reader with a more profound understanding of how the Chinese authorities manipulate people with poisonous deceit, lies and slander. The effects have been disastrous:

• Propaganda that brands Falun Gong as a [slanderous term omitted] is used to attack it from a religious aspect.


• Allegations that Falun Gong practitioners commit murder and suicide are invented to attack them from a benevolent aspect.


• Lies that Falun Gong practitioners are of low education and are superstitious are designed to undermine them from a scientific and educational aspect.


• The irrational and the naïve are manipulated by hate propaganda.


• The nationalistic and apolitical section of society is affected by the claim that Falun Gong is political and receives money from overseas anti-Chinese groups.

Behind this meticulously planned strategy are many people who have a negative impression of Falun Gong, and as if this were not enough, today there is another weapon to control people’s minds: money.

Therefore, matters like wages, promotions, social welfare and others things, like the right to education and employment, are all related to one’s attitude towards Falun Gong. If you are not following the party’s political line towards Falun Gong, you are made a victim and may lose your civil rights. By the way, the same suppressive methods are employed in trade negotiations with other nations to ensure that the governments of these countries turn a blind eye to China’s human rights violations.

So, for more than four years, a worldwide persecution of Falun Gong has been carried out. The consequence has been that most people, not solely Chinese people, have not been able to avoid becoming involved in the persecution.

By comparing China’s history with the present state of the country, the reader may arrive at an understanding of this enigma.
