Injustice: A Chinese businessman who is also a resident of Denmark has accused the Chinese embassy of destroying his business enterprise because he is a practitioner of Falun Gong.

The Chinese authority’s persecution of members of the controversial Falun Gong movement has apparently spread to Denmark. A Chinese businessman, Xuezhi Zhu, who for a couple of years has carried out trade between Denmark and China, has accused the Chinese embassy in Denmark of conspiring with authorities in Beijing to have his business in China closed down. According to Xuezhi Zhu, the reason for this is that he is a Falun Gong practitioner and that he has participated in demonstrations in favour of the movement in front of the Chinese embassy at Hellerup.

Xuezhi Zhu declares that his three companies in Tianjin, China were seized and forcibly closed down by the Chinese National Security Bureau on the 5th & 6th of August last year. The result is that he and his family have lost their permit to stay in Denmark, which was under the condition that he ran his business to support his family.

Xuezhi Zhu´s work permit expired on the 15th September this year, but he has applied for asylum Therefore, the expulsion has been suspended.

“I now have to look at his case and the background from his own description. He is now in a situation where the Chinese authorities have made it impossible for him to run his business because he is affiliated to Falun Gong. This is serious,” stated Zhu´s lawyer Thor Andersen.

The Danish People’s Party spokesman on foreign policy, Peter Skaarup, is outraged at the case and is now requesting the Foreign Minister Stig Møller to investigate whether China and their embassy in Denmark have persecuted the Chinese businessman.
