Poem: In Crashing Waves

In crashing waves of loss and gain, man casts his empty nets,
Drowning in his twisted ropes of hopes and past regrets;
In crying calls of promised fame, his own desire he hears,
Deafened by his thoughts of self to what’s beyond his ears;
In rushing time of dreams pursued, he fights to change his life,
Blinded by his faithless heart and knowing fate as strife.
