At around 6 p.m. on June 6, 2003, more than 10 police vehicles stormed into the residential area of Chuantou Inc. in Emei City, Sichuan Province. Thirty to forty policemen jumped out of the vehicles, surrounding the entire area, in a frenzy. They searched Falun Dafa practitioner Cao Guangju's home, a 57-year-old retiree. Since July 1999, local police have arrested and detained her numerous times. Plainclothes officers kept her home under constant surveillance. Around 11 p.m. on June 6, 2003, police forcefully took Cao Guangju away. Together, three or four police dragged her out. Ms.Cao was very strong and brave. She kept clarifying the truth to more than a hundred people who were standing nearby. Her daughter could no longer tolerate the police illegally arresting her mother, so she went to the police car to prevent the police from putting her mother in the car. The police, with total disregard for the law or human decency, immediately arrested her daughter. When her son-in-law tried to protect his wife, the police arrested him as well. Neither her daughter nor son-in-law are Falun Gong practitioners.

Ms. Cao's daughter and son-in-law were released after 15 days detention. Both of them had lost a lot of weight and were covered with injuries. Her son-in-law's neck was beaten badly. This incident has greatly upset the local people.
