On August 9th 2003, RFI broadcasted the following interview in Mandarin to the Chinese people in Paris and Mainland China, in a special section of a programme entitled “Paris Chinese”.

Host: Hello everyone, I am Wang Lu. Mrs. Chen in Paris is a young lady who practises Falun Gong. She went back to China to visit her family in 1999. She was, however, arrested, detained, and suffered from torture and humiliation. She passed through many places and left China for France afterwards. In a recent conference, she testified and described how she suffered cruel and brutal treatment. In today’s programme, we are going to broadcast her experience that was crafted from blood and tears.

Mrs. Chen: In winter, we were forced to take off our clothes, cold water was poured on our bodies, and we were forcibly fed with food whilst our arms and legs were tied up. What we were fed with was some kind of mixture of chilli, highly-concentrated brine, medicine, excrement and urine. The mixture was inserted through tubes into our noses. It was not uncommon for the insertion to cause a broken wound, blood would spray out and many Dafa practitioners died due to the insertion: Mei Yulan from Beijing is one practitioner who died this way.

Four to five of them would beat us up. The policemen would give us electric shocks on our heads, breasts, backs, and vaginas; some of them put the electric baton into our mouths. Some female Dafa practitioners were stripped naked and taken to the male prison. They even injected us with unknown medicine and forced some female Dafa practitioners to have abortions. This all happened in China and was carried out by policemen in China.

They treated our bodies so cruelly that no single person of conscience or morality can stomach learning about it. People never hear about such things in a civilized country. Even so, the policemen threatened us to keep silent about what happened and said that no one ever witnessed these things and therefore no one would come to testify. It is all because this system in China has been founded on deceit and evil. It’s difficult for people to imagine that these experiences have actually happened to Falun Gong practitioners in China. They torture people not only spiritually but also physically and even economically. They force those who practise Falun Gong in China to be brainwashed; each of them is required to hand in 6,000 RMB.

Host: There are a lot of Falun Gong practitioners who were beaten to death whilst imprisoned in various parts of China. Mrs. Chen based on your understanding, how many people died of violence like this?

Mrs. Chen: In my understanding, more than 600 people died and the numbers are still unknown for many areas, as China is a big country and statistics are blocked by the police. The figures are not as complete as they should be and are gathered via some official channel. I think the figures are far greater than what we know right now as it’s really difficult to imagine the extent of what they have done.

Host: Mrs. Chen would now like to say a few words to those who care about her in China over the airwaves.

Mrs. Chen: I am a Falun Gong practitioner who experienced the evil persecution in China. I was once confused. When I walked away from that environment, I deeply realised that Falun Gong practitioners must firmly stick to their righteous belief in Truthfulness, Benevolence, and Tolerance. I am now abroad and see Falun Gong practitioners in more than sixty countries. Dafa practitioners outside of Mainland China are exposing this most evil persecution. More and more people in the world are supporting and trying to help Falun Gong.

I have another important thing to tell everyone. The Global Coalition for Bringing Jiang to Justice has been established by many organisations in the world to send Jiang to the court of morality, conscience and law. I hope that this news will spread widely. I also appeal to all kind people to stand up and stop this most evil persecution and cruel killing.

Host: Dear listeners, what do you feel after hearing about Mrs. Chen’s description of her own experience of blood and tears? You are welcome to write a letters or call us to discuss the details. Dear listeners, think about it, how can such a strikingly cruel method be used to treat someone who is just like you, especially when they are our own sisters and brothers and of the same human race?

This is the end of “Paris Chinese”. Thank you for listening. Good-bye.
