Some Thoughts After Reading “Words From Practitioners Being Persecuted: One Must be Diligent in Studying the Fa”

I felt deeply ashamed and got goosepimples all over my body after reading the article entitled “Words From Practitioners Being Persecuted: One Must be Diligent in Studying the Fa”” published on Minghui.net in April. As long as six months ago, I heard the phrase “Falun Wo Gong” (study the Fa whilst lying down) from the audio recording of Master Li’s Fa Lecture in Jinan. These words were from a sentence criticising someone who arbitrarily tampered with the Falun Gong exercises. Yet what I heard was another connotation criticising my posture whilst studying the Fa. At that moment, I drew a deep breath and thought: “Ouch, Master, aren’t you referring to me?” This did actually make me change my posture whilst studying the Fa for a couple of days, but I returned to my original habit afterwards because I have liked reading whilst lying down since I was a child. I read all kinds of books and articles in this posture. I also organise my thoughts in this way. Only in this posture could I comprehend the meanings behind the words. After I obtained the Fa, I also studied the Fa in this way.

My first thought was that it was okay to study the Fa in this posture as long as I was able to grasp the meaning behind the words and put it into practice in my daily life. When I visited some other practitioners’ houses in my area, I found that they were also practising “Falun Wo Gong”. I notice four people in a family watching the videotape of Fa Lecture in Jinan while the parents were trying to get their kids to sleep, and then the parents and the kids all fell asleep together.

Some practitioners also studied the Fa whilst lying down or in a semi-reclined posture. On the other hand, others might be eating whilst studying the Fa. Still others might go and do something else or get a bite to eat when it was others’ turn to read a passage from the Fa. Furthermore, some practitioners let their children practise writing Chinese characters or learn Chinese during group Fa study. When it was the children’s turns to read the Fa, others had to teach the children Chinese character by character (On average, they needed to teach the children every other character. Because some practitioners were against reading the Fa together, the group Fa study was going on in this fashion. By doing so, those who had to wait for a long time to read the Fa might do something else while it was others’ turn to read.)

The above-mentioned scenarios are quite common in my area. It was because the practitioners don’t put Dafa first. They don’t even truly understand the meaning of “putting Dafa first” whatsoever. In the Minghui article, the author also mentioned that if one does not respect Master, how can he fully understand the true meaning of the Fa? Without respect for Master Li, how uncomfortable the Buddha, Tao and Gods behind the words of the Fa would be!

It is also not appropriate to jot down other practitioners’ mailing information, such as addresses, on the reverse side of the copies of Master Li’s new articles.”

I planned to write this article a long time ago. Whenever I sensed the seriousness of this problem, I was able to study the Fa in the sitting position. However, this couldn’t last long for some reason. It was because I couldn’t live up to this requirement myself that I didn’t have the guts to finish the article. Thanks to the author of this article on Minghui.net, I am convinced that from now on the “Falun Wo Gong” phenomenon won’t happen again when I study the Fa. After all, it is actually interference resulting from my laziness and thought karma.
