In its September 23 culture section, a journalist from the regional daily La Dépêche invites you not to miss "the deeply moving exhibition" of the Art of Zhen-Shan-Ren (Truthfulness, Compassion, Tolerance) still on display for a few days at the Maison des associations in Toulouse

Hanh, volunteer of the association and Rodney, in front of the painting "Who am I?" (search for the meaning of life) by Dong Xiqiang (2012). DDM, M.T.

The journalist presents the exhibition in these terms:

"Sixty-eight paintings, oils and watercolors of very realistic workmanship, made by artists, mostly Chinese, immerse us in this art inspired by the practice of an ancestral method of Qi Gong called Falun Dafa or Falun Gong."

Noting that the exhibition has traveled around the world, the journalist states that it "shows all the beauty of a practice that is both physical and spiritual, its balance with daily life, but also all the horror of the repression it engenders"

She then explains how "This practice became so popular in the 90s in China (100 million practitioners at the end of 1999), that the Chinese Communist Party, after having encouraged it, then saw it as a threat. Its followers, presented as enemies of the regime, were then, and still are today, the object of atrocious persecutions: kidnappings, arbitrary imprisonments, re-education by torture"

The article goes on quoting Rodney Ledesma, one of the organizers, who says that he practices it himself: "Despite the persecution, it is a message of peace, an invitation to continue to apply the Falun Dafa principles of authenticity, benevolence and patience, to be good people"

The article finally states that the exhibition is on view "until September 28 at the Maison des associations 3 Place Guy Hersant. Monday through Friday 10 a.m./7 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m./6 p.m."
