Falun Dafa practitioners in Austria held two events in Vienna on May 13, 2020 to celebrate the 21st World Falun Dafa Day. They gathered on Vienna Steve Square and talked with passers-by about Falun Dafa (also known as Falun Gong) and the CCP's (Chinese Communist Party) brutal persecution in China.

Even though people need to wear face masks due to the pandemic, it has not stopped practitioners' truth clarification efforts. The square is much quieter since there are fewer tourists. Attracted by the event, a lady stopped and learned why the CCP persecutes such a peaceful practice and that it cannot tolerate Falun Dafa’s principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.

“I learned some Chinese history in school,” said a young man from Afghanistan who now lives in Austria. “Afghanistan is China's neighbour, but we can't get true news from China. Although it looks peaceful and quiet no one knows China's true situation.

He said, “The CCP is a dictatorship regime. People are persecuted for their own thoughts. There's electronic surveillance everywhere. No one can ask for freedom. A small number of people have absolute control over the others. It is crazy.”

Practitioner Alix and his children sang songs about practising Falun Dafa and the persecution. Many passers-by paused to listen and accepted fliers.

The practitioners concluded the day's events with a peaceful protest in front of the Chinese embassy in Vienna that evening.
