Visitors to the British Museum, a museum known for its large collection of Chinese artifacts, have had the opportunity to learn more about Chinese contemporary history than usual in recent weeks.

Display boards regarding Falun Gong – a spiritual practice rooted from China's ancient culture and persecuted in its country of origin – have been visible near the museum entrance since the summer.

Chinese visitors are offered the opportunity to disassociate themselves from communism, an ideology foreign to traditional Chinese values and the culprit that has destroyed the traditional culture in China during the Cultural Revolution.

The display boards in English and Chinese center around two topics: the state-sanctioned organ harvesting from Falun Gong practitioners and analysis of the staged self-immolation on Tiananmen Square.

Tourists and locals were happy to receive Falun Gong materials, which practitioners had on hand in many languages. As many as two thousand flyers were distributed in one day.

Chinese visitors to the British Museum are usually interested in traditional Chinese culture and come to see the many ancient Chinese artefacts that can't be seen anywhere else. However, due to the propaganda they face in China, they usually aren't aware of Falun Gong's deep connection with ancient Chinese culture. Nor are they aware of the truth about the persecution Falun Gong faces in China.

Practitioners explain to them that Falun Gong is rooted in ancient Chinese cultivation culture, one that emphasizes spiritual self-improvement by adhering to higher standards. The tenets of Falun Gong – Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance – align with the essence of traditional Chinese values.

Practitioners also introduce the concept of karmic retribution, the traditional Chinese version of “what goes around comes around,” one that has been removed from the education in China in recent years.

After they learn what Falun Gong really is, and how it is persecuted in China, scores of them decide to renounce their association with the Chinese Communist Party when practitioners offer them the opportunity. One practitioner, Ms. Song recalls over 60 Chinese citizens withdrawing from the Party and its affiliates on October 27 alone.

Here is a story of six Chinese students. They appeared surprised when they saw the poster about the “Tiananmen self-immolation” in front of the entrance to the museum.

Practitioner Ms. Song talked to them and explained the real story behind CCP's propaganda stunt to demonize Falun Dafa practitioners and cover up the brutal persecution.

She explained that Falun Dafa practitioners comprise the largest group of prisoners of conscience in China and that researchers estimate that 40,000-65,000 practitioners have been killed for their organs since the persecution began 15 years ago.

Four of the students decided to withdraw from the CCP and its affiliated organizations.
