Swiss Falun Gong practitioners have held activities in Geneva and Berne since October 6, 2012, to collect signatures calling for a UN investigation into organ harvesting from living Falun Gong practitioners by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).

Guo Jun, editor-in-chief of the Chinese edition of the Epoch Times, spoke at an official UN side panel event on September 17 about her investigation into organ harvesting from Falun Gong practitioners by the Chinese Communist Party and urged the UN to make an emergency investigation into the crime. Chief representative of the International Education Development Organization Dr. Park made the same allegation at the panel. It was the first time this allegation was raised at a UN Human Rights conference since the exposure of live organ harvesting of Falun Gong practitioners in March 2006. To raise awareness on this issue, Swiss practitioners collected signatures calling for an investigation into the organ harvesting crime.

Geneva practitioners were warmly received by police officers when they applied for an activity permit at the local police station. The officers had heard about the organ harvesting crime. The application was quickly approved and their location request expedited. Some police officers apologized for not being able to sign the petition while on duty, but said that they would definitely sign it after work.

Many people had heard about the CCP's organ harvesting crime from the media or their friends. They signed the petition as soon as they saw the activity. Some expressed their support for Falun Gong practitioners. Some brought their family members to sign. A store owner asked for blank petition forms so that he could collect more signatures from his customers.

Over a thousand signatures were collected in Geneva alone after three days. Swiss practitioners will continue their signature collection in other cities.
