Poem for the Chinese Police: What Do You Think About?
-- To the thousands of police and officials who carry out the orders of Jiang Zemin

When you get up in the morning and look at yourself in the bathroom mirror,
When you leave for "work";
What do you think about?

When you get home from a hard day at the "office" and smell the tasty fish or chicken your wife has prepared for your dinner;
What do you think about?
Does it at all smell like the flesh you burned with your electric baton at work that day?

When you are cremating people alive,
When you rape;
When you break into people's homes and carry them out of their beds;
When you crack open a skull;
When you throw people out of a three-story building and watch them plummet to their death;
When you hear the unforgettable screams of a soul in torturous pain;
What do you think about?

When you smell the sweet scent of your newborn baby girl;
When you feel the gentle loving touch of your wife's hand;
When you see your elderly parents suffering in pain;
What do you think about?

When you get your paycheck for all the hard work that you have done;
What do you think about?

When your boss pats you on the back to congratulate you on a job well done;
What do you think about?

When you look up into the endless sky on a picture perfect day;
What do you think about?

Do you ever think about tomorrow?
Don't you know there are other things you could do;
Is it money that makes you do this?
Can't you let your compassion somehow break through?

I can't imagine how you do what you do;
It makes no sense to me;
If it is money that you are after;
I'll give you what I have if you set them all free.

Set them free!
Set yourself free!
Freedom is calling your name, don't you hear it?
Think about it.
