Ms. Zeng Shuling from Harbin City was arrested on December 31st, 2011, and taken to Qianjin Forced Labour Camp on February 2nd, 2012. She was beaten and shocked with electric batons by division head Geng Shuping. Both her shoulders and hands were severely injured as a result. She couldn't do any hard labour and had difficulty taking care of herself. Having lost the ability to do hard labour, she and another practitioner, Ms. Fang Guilan, were forced to sit on small stools for long periods of time.

Detainees in the labour camp are forced to work from 6:30 a.m. until 7:30 p.m. every day. They are not allowed to talk, rest, or go back to their dorms before 8:00 p.m.. If they don't finish their tasks, they must work extra time to finish.

Division head Wang Min and inmate Wang Fang have punished practitioners who didn't finish their workloads since March 2012. Practitioners are beaten and verbally abused, deprived of sleep, and not allowed to wash. Some practitioners have been forced to work the entire night. Ms. Zeng, Ms. Li Huihui, and Ms. Wang Lina were subjected to long-term torture and sometimes had to work through the night. When some practitioners refused to do the hard labour, they were tortured and were not given anything to eat. Ms. Zeng has been sentenced to forced labour camps three times, and served a total of six years.

When a female practitioner was not in good health health and refused to work, Geng Shuping forced her to stand under the scorching sun for a long time. When this practitioner refused to work the extra time in the evening, she was shocked with electric batons more than 20 times, until she fell to the ground. Inmate Sheng Limei kicked and beat her, while Geng was shocking her.

Ms. Fang Guilan, Ms. Zhao Tianling, and Ms. Yan Xiuhua were also forcibly fed unknown drugs. When the practitioners refused to take the drugs, they were dragged outside. Two doctors stepped on each of their arms, pushed their heads back and inserted a tube into them. They then force-fed them with a large amount of drugs. Afterward, the practitioners were left lying on the ground. Their vision became blurred and they became unable to move. The doctors inserted the tube many times. When the practitioners were eventually able to move again, they were forced to do hard labor. Ms. Yi Zhengfang and Ms. Zhao Tianling are still being forced-fed with unknown drugs.

When Ms. Zeng Shuling was detained in Wanjia Forced Labour Camp from 2001 to 2003, she developed red scabies all over her body and was bedridden for more than a year. She was sentenced to a rehabilitation centre from 2005 to 2007, where she was tortured to the point of being disabled and unable to walk. She was tied to a small stool for more than a year. As a result, she developed heart disease, uraemia, and complications with her bowels. Officials at the rehabilitation centre didn't want to keep her any longer. She was unable to walk for four years.

On the morning of December 31st, 2011, Ms. Zeng was arrested again, along with her husband Mr. Niu Jiahui. Mr. Niu had previously been sentenced to prison for five years, and has now been sentenced for another four years.

Ms. Zeng went on a hunger strike to protest her maltreatment in the detention centre. One month later, she was taken to the Qianjin Forced Labour Camp on a stretcher. Division head Wang Min and inmate Wang Fang shocked her with electric batons and poured cold water on her in an attempt to force her to write a guarantee statement promising to stop practising Falun Gong. She vomited blood for a long time because of the abuse. As soon as she recovered, she was forced to do hard labour again. When she couldn't finish the task, she was forced to work overnight. Ms. Zeng was later thrown into the pigpen and humiliated by the guards.
