The Epoch Times reported that Mrs Lili Lin, a UK Falun Gong practitioner who was recently detained by the UK Home Office, will be released in the next few days. It was verified that Mrs Lin’s lawyer has appealed on human rights grounds against the decision of the Home Office to repatriate her. Hence, the legal procedures of the case have now started and the repatriation procedure was terminated on the same day. It is expected that Mrs Lin will be released early this week.

It was originally arranged for practitioner Lili Lin to be repatriated to China on March 7. This incident has drawn the attention of UK politicians, Amnesty International, the UK Falun Gong Association and Falun Gong practitioners around the world. They called for the repatriation of Lili Lin to be stopped. Seeing that the Chinese government is brutally persecuting Falun Gong, including through the torture of pregnant women (using forced abortion etc.), they think that the British government should protect the pregnant Lili Lin from being repatriated to China on humanitarian grounds, so that she can avoid suffering persecution.
