"Falun Dafa Experience Sharing Conference"

Whereas, Falun Gong practitioners will be gathering on February 15, 2003 in Los Angeles for the annual Western United States Falun Dafa Experience Sharing Conference. This event promises to increase awareness and support of Falun Gong and to provide encouragement and hope for Falun Gong practitioners who are being persecuted in China; and

Whereas, Falun Gong (also known as Falun Dafa) is a mind and body meditation practice that has been proven to improve health and help individuals raise their moral standards by following the principles of "Truth-Compassion-Forbearance". Falun Gong students all strive to become more tolerant, honest, and kinder, which naturally benefits the stability of society. The benefits of Falun Dafa ranges from newfound energy, to mental clarity, stress relief and peace of mind; and

Whereas, as Falun Gong practitioners from all over the world join in Los Angeles for this conference, they look forward to sharing testimonies of the positive difference Falun Gong has made to their lives. Today, about 100 million Falun Dafa practitioners can be found in over 60 countries in Asia, Australia, Africa, Europe, North America and South America. Everybody is welcome.

Now, Therefore, I, Mark Lewis, Mayor of the City of El Cajon, together with the City Council, do hereby extend our best wishes to Falun Gong practitioners as they come together for the "Falun Dafa Experience Sharing Conference" and a warm welcome to those attending the conference in the State of California.
