With next year's Olympic Games in Beijing just around the corner, the world must keep up the pressure on China over its human rights record, a hearing of the European Parliament's Human Rights Subcommittee attended by over 200 people was told on Monday. Several NGOs, including a Chinese dissident speaking live via Internet telephone conference, described the widespread human rights violations still being perpetrated by the authorities.

Falun Dafa Information Centre: Olympic-Size Violations [18.11.2007]

Beijing Olympic organizers have openly expressed a policy banning Falun Gong adherents from attending the 2008 summer Olympics, the Falun Dafa Information Centre reported Wednesday. Beijing's decision stands in stark violation to Articles 35 and 36 of China's own Constitution, which promise freedom of association and religious belief, as well as the International Olympic Committee's bylaws, which prohibit any form of discrimination - including that religious or political.

Press Release by Falun Gong Practitioners in Bielefeld: German Doctors Aid Torture Victim from China [21.10.2007]

"Wang experienced that peaceful people, who are seen by the Communist regime as a threat to their power, are dealt with worse than murderers and rapists in slave labour camps. At the slave labour camp, the guards ordered drug addicted inmates to monitor, humiliate and beat up Wang. On April 15th 2003, five inmates in his cell tortured him and broke both of his hip joints. The slave labour camp doctor gave Wang only a few pain-killers although he suffered from multiple broken bones and his body was covered with wounds from burning cigarettes."

In the beginning of June 2007, when Ma Jian’s family visited him at the special unit, he was described as ‘visibly emaciated’. At the end of April, his family received a judiciary notification informing them that Ma Jian was convicted due to the fact that he was in possession of Falun Gong related documents.

Gao, age 73, was taken from his St. Petersburg home on Sunday by Russian immigration officers, who entered his home on false pretences and cut telephone lines. It is believed Russian authorities were acting at the behest of China’s communist regime, raising fears for Gao’s safety and welfare; if returned to China, Gao will likely face imprisonment and possible torture.

The Joint Committee was being addressed by former Canadian Secretary of State for the Asia Pacific region Mr. David Kilgour who co-authored the report with Mr. David Matas, an international human rights lawyer."

Helsinki (EFGIC) - Two months ago, an investigative report was published by David Kilgour, former Canadian Secretary of State, and David Matas, a renowned international human rights lawyer. This report concludes that organ harvesting is widespread on live Falun Gong practitioners in China. In the wake of the EU-China Summit in Helsinki, MEP's such as Simon Coveney, Charles Tannock, and Edward McMillan-Scott have co-signed a letter to the European Commission, expressing their concerns on this serious human rights violation. They urge the EU Commission to look into this matter and raise the issue during the Summit.

NEW YORK (Falun Dafa Information Centre) - A 45-page investigative report was released on Thursday that addresses allegations of organ harvesting from Falun Gong detainees; the Falun Dafa Information Centre is calling the report, "vitally important". Coauthored by former Canadian Secretary of State (Asia-Pacific) David Kilgour and human rights attorney David Matas, the report draws "the regrettable conclusion that the allegations are true." Speaking with the press, Kilgour said on Wednesday that, "I don't think anyone can have any doubt that this unbelievable practice is continuing... They take both kidneys, then the heart and the skin and the corneas and the liver, and your body is then thrown in the incinerator."

Brussels (EFGIC) - Following a three-day visit to Beijing, the Vice President of the European Parliament, Edward McMillan-Scott, called the Chinese Communist leadership a “brutal, arbitrary and paranoid system” at a press conference in Hong Kong on Wednesday, and said that the EU would keep putting pressure on China to improve human rights and religious freedom. After having met with various diplomats, nongovernmental organizations, and individuals including Falun Gong practitioners, who are ruthlessly persecuted by the CCP regime, McMillan-Scott concluded that, despite economic advancements, there hasn’t been any improvement for human rights and freedom in China.

“Reliable sources report of secret Chinese death camps, where thousands of so-called “enemies” of the Chinese Communist regime, such as Falun Gong practitioners, are being held for one reason only: to steal their organs for international organ trade supply. EFGIC: Amidst the Evidence, Denying Sujiatun Organ Trafficking Must Not Stand [30.03.2006]

The timing of the CCP’s denial is also suspicious. Why did the regime wait for over two weeks to deny Sujiatun? And why did the CCP, after years of known illicit organ trafficking but just weeks after Sujiatun was revealed, also today suddenly announce a new law against organ trafficking? We call for a thorough and real investigation, not a show tour, by independent international organisations, allowing a WOIPFG researcher immediate and unrestricted access to the entire area. Anything short of complete access is a cover up.

EFGIC: Concentration Camp for Falun Gong Disclosed; Prisoners Killed for Organ Harvesting [10.03.2006]

BRUSSELS (EFGIC) — Since the Nuremberg Trials came to a close in 1946, condemning the Nazi officials responsible for the holocaust, it has been the common hope of the people in the world that concentration camps like Auschwitz, Buchenwald and Dachau, would never again emerge in the history of mankind. The horrifying fact is that a similar facility is at this very moment in operation in China. The European Falun Gong Information Centre received shocking, detailed information on Wednesday from a Chinese Communist Party insider documenting a concentration camp set up in Shenyang city, Liaoning province, expressly for Falun Gong practitioners.

Speaking to reporters, Ms Gao Yudong said: “the bruise on the side of my head caused by the blow felt very hot. By the next morning I started to feel pain, and I could feel a swelling on my head. During the day at work, my head felt painful and numb. I had difficulties concentrating.”

EFGIC: Chinese Communist Show to Celebrate Torture on U.S. Stage? [14.01.2006]

"This is a sort of sick victory song for the CCP. Captive Falun Gong practitioners are made to sing it under threat of violence. To not 'sing along' is to invite beatings with two-by-fours, shocks from electric batons, or force-feeding using faeces and sludge. Once a victim is completely broken, prison authorities 'celebrate' with a round of this 'Same Song.' For thousands it is a song of pain and despair, and it has no place in our communities," says FDI spokesperson Mr. Erping Zhang.

Many were taken from their homes in the middle of the night.

“The defendant will go down in history as one of the most unscrupulous men of the twentieth century, a man who tortured and murdered thousands upon thousands of adherents of Falun Gong, a spiritual practice based on the moral and spiritual principles of truthfulness, compassion and forbearance,” Dr. Marsh says. Apart from the fact that Jiang was never legitimately elected to office, as is required in China by the Constitution, Dr. Marsh argues that such “least wanted” as Jiang Zemin, Saddam Hussein, Adolph Hitler and the Khmer Rouge are per se not legitimate heads of state due to the magnitude of their crimes against humanity.

LONDON [EFGIC] – Little Jingyu, barely eight years old, lay silent, terrified, still, on the cold concrete floor of the Jiuxian Village jail. But the scene kept moving through her head. It was her dad she saw, she was sure, but not the strong, smiling father she knew. This time it was so different. Dad was crumpled in pain, writhing. Hours of beatings had left him a shadow of his former self. Police had made Jingyu watch. The pain and confusion proved too much for the young girl, even after she and her mother were released from custody. The trauma was so deep Jingyu soon began spitting up blood and vomiting. Less than one month later she passed away, too broken to live.
