On October 22, the Women's International League for Peace and Freedom (WILPF) organised a human rights forum at the Swedish Parliament. The forum was hosted by Eva Selin Lindgren, Swedish Parliament member and vice chair of WILPF. Parliament representatives, China Experts, NGOs, and representatives from other persecuted groups attended the forum.

The head of the Austrian Falun Dafa Association called on all media outlets to focus on the CCP's persecution of Falun Gong practitioners. It has been 10 years since the CCP started suppressing Falun Gong. The representative stated, "It has been verified that at least 3,200 Falun Gong practitioners have been tortured to death in China by the CCP."

To expose the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) brutal persecution of Falun Gong, the French Falun Dafa Association held a press conference in the National Assembly on the date marking the tenth year of the CCP's persecution of the practice.

The Vice-President of the European Parliament, Mr Edward McMillan-Scott, organised a press conference at London's Foreign Press Association recently. He invited experts on China, scholars and Falun Gong practitioners who suffered persecution, to expose the genocidal crimes of the Chinese Communist regime's organ harvesting from living Falun Gong practitioners.

One reason for holding the hearing was that ten years ago in April, Falun Gong, a popular qigong practised by tens of millions of people in China caught the attention of the authorities. The brutal persecution of Falun Gong later started. At least three thousand practitioners have died from torture and abuse and tens of thousands have been imprisoned.

This year marks the tenth anniversary of the "April 25" peaceful appeal by Falun Gong practitioners in Beijing. On April 15th, Vice President of the European Parliament Mr Edward McMillan-Scott initiated an international public hearing about the lack of freedom of belief in China. Through their own personal experiences as well as some independent investigations,participants analysed the Chinese Communist regime's persecution of Falun Gong and appealed for an end to the persecution.

The Polish Falun Gong Association, The Coalition to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong in China (CIPFG), and a representative of the Poland Association of freedom in expression co-sponsored a news conference in Warsaw, appealing to all parties concerned about China's human rights situation. They issued a public appeal to all circles of society to make their voices of justice heard and to end the CCP’s persecution of human rights.

In the afternoon of October 8th, New Tang Dynasty TV (NTDTV) and their supporters held a press conference outside the Eutelsat Share Holder Conference venue in Caen, France. They strongly appealed to stockholders to urge Eutelsat to resume the NTDTV broadcast to Asia.

On September 9th, New Tang Dynasty Division in Barcelona Spain held a press conference. Several agencies attended and spoke in support of the NTDTV, the only Chinese media independent of CCP control.

On August 19th, the French Falun Dafa Association held a press conference in Paris to expose the Chinese Communist Party (CCP)'s persecution of Falun Gong in China. Several VIPs attended and gave speeches of support. The event was covered by various media, including the Paris People newspaper.

On July 25, the Coalition to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong (CIPFG) handed over letters that were collected from political leaders, Members of Parliament, lawyers, and doctors in the "Millions of Signatures Global Campaign" to the International Olympic Committee (IOC). These letters expressed support for the global campaign to end the persecution of Falun Gong.

“I would have never imagined the Chinese Communist regime would attempt to interfere with a cultural show, such as the Chinese Shen Yun Gala. We live in a democracy. It is inconceivable that the Chinese Communist regime could bring its influence to bear in the West,” said Karl Eilert. The retiree heard about the attempt by the Chinese regime to prevent the Chinese Shen Yun Spectacular from being performed in Sweden during a demonstration by the Falun Gong Association, one of the organisers of the Gala on Tuesday February 2nd 2008 in one of Duisburg’s shopping centres.

When asked by a journalist the reason for holding the seminar, Chairman Lars Hedegaard Jensen responded, "The Beijing Olympics are approaching and we need to understand the human rights situation in this country, with its fast-developing economy. We need to understand whether they are improving their human rights situation, or whether on the contrary, at the same time as rapid economic development, freedom is being suppressed."

On 10th October 2007, before the human rights dialogue between the EU and China, the European Parliament held a press conference about human rights in China and freedom of belief. It was run by the Vice Chairman of the European Parliament, Edward McMillan-Scott, who requested the CCP to release all Falun Gong practitioners before the dialogue.

On August 7th 2007, experts gathered in Athens to attend an international forum entitled, "The Olympic Games vs. Crimes Against Humanity in China." The forum was held by the Coalition to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong, the International Society for Human Rights, and the Association for Asia Research.

The parade included banners, music, waist-drummers dressed in gold, and many female practitioners dressed in white holding photos of those killed in the persecution. The tail of the parade included a float and banners exposing the atrocities committed by the CCP and highlighting the harvesting of organs from prisoners of conscience.

"Because it is a threat to world peace and to our humanity, the CCP is unmasked daily in demonstrations like this one by Falun Gong practitioners the world over. Thanks to the great work of Falun Gong practitioners, who really care about the people in China and really care about the future of all the people in our world, we see today that evil party has lost 25 million of its members – these are people who do not want to be associated with its crimes when it finally falls apart in the same way Communism fell apart elsewhere in the recent past".

Two significant guests came to the Municipal Library in Prague at the beginning of May. One of the two personally went through the Chinese labour camp system where prisoners of conscience are detained, the second introduced to the Czech people his revised report into allegations of organ harvesting from Falun Gong practitioners in China.

During a seminar on March 30th, Canadian human rights lawyer David Matas and former MP David Kilgour's report on CCP's live organ harvesting from Falun Gong practitioners became the focus of the forum. Matas and Kilgour told more than a hundred attendees and representatives from several media about the findings from their investigation.

All evidence points to one conclusion: Falun Gong practitioners detained in China are being systematically murdered for their organs, which are sold to desperate transplant seekers.

“Human dignity cannot be divided on our small planet. Different religious communities and members of democratic societies have to get together to protect those who are oppressed like Falun Gong, otherwise numerous existing dictatorships will continue to oppress people around the world,” said Mr. David Kilgour in his speech in Sofia.

Invited by the Human Rights Committee of the Irish Parliament, David Matas visited Ireland. Mr. Matas is an international human rights lawyer who co-wrote a report into organ harvesting from Falun Gong practitioners in China. During his visit Mr Matas took part in news briefings, met VIPs and spoke at Trinity College.

"One of the few countries where the communists are still in power is China, a country where the basic human rights, freedom of speech and freedom of belief are systematically violated. But not only that. In China people are sent to prison for many years without trial because of their beliefs. According to eye witnesses and independent investigation we have learned that since 2001 human organs are being taken by force the from the bodies of the prisoners of conscience throughout China. One of the most persecuted groups in China is Falun Gong also known as Falun Dafa."

On January 11th, a seminar was held at the French Senate entitled “What Is Peace? How to Achieve Peace?” David Kilgour, former Canadian Secretary of State for Asia Pacific, delivered a speech at the seminar. He talked about many of China’s current human rights problems, stating that China’s human rights situation was deteriorating.

“They take both of your kidneys, heart and skin, corneas and liver and then they throw your body in the incinerator.² Those are words of David Kilgour, the former member of the Canadian government, who with his colleague David Matas compiled report on illegal organ seizures from prisoners of conscience in China, namely from the practitioners of Falun Gong meditation discipline. On November 16th, David Kilgour reported his findings in the Czech Parliament.

On November 22nd, 2006, Italy's Ansa News Agency reported that Mr Della Vedova, Italian MEP, invited Canada's former Secretary of State (Asia Pacific) and Member of Parliament David Kilgour to give a presentation in the press room of the Italian Parliament. Kilgour discussed the report he drafted with human rights lawyer David Matas after their independent investigation into allegations that the Chinese Communist regime harvests organs from living Falun Gong practitioners.

At the invitation of Belgian MP Jan Loones, independent Canadian investigators David Kilgour and David Matas held a press conference at the Belgian Parliament about organ harvesting from living Falun Gong practitioners.

On November 30th, David Kilgour, coauthor of the Report into Allegations of Organ Harvesting of Falun Gong Practitioners in China, visited Spain. The report has attracted widespread attention from Spanish media. Mr Kilgour held a press conference in Madrid, and nearly twenty media outlets including all the prominent Spanish media attended.

David Kilgour, former Canadian State Secretary (Asia Pacific), visited Slovakia in order to publicise his investigation into organ harvesting from Falun Gong practitioners in Chinese prisons. In the morning he met with the leadership of the Committee for human rights, other minorities and the women of the Slovak parliament. The subsequent press conference for the Slovak media was attended by both Slovak press agencies and national TV.

We are here today to express our deep concern at the arrest of the Chinese human rights lawyer Mr Gao Zhisheng by the Chinese authorities on August 15th. We strongly urge China to release him immediately and to allow him to continue his career as a human rights lawyer. Gao Zhisheng was kidnapped by plainclothes policemen while visiting his critically ill brother-in-law at his sister’s home in Shandong province when twelve policemen burst into the home and took him away without any explanation and without providing any legal documentation to support their actions.

Former Canadian Secretary of State for the Asia-Pacific region Mr. David Kilgour held a press conference in Brussels. The press conference was regarding the Chinese Communist regime's barbaric practice of harvesting organs from living Falun Gong practitioners in China. He was joined by Vice-President of the European Parliament Mr. Edward McMillan-Scott and Belgium human rights lawyer Mr. George-Henry Beauthier.

On Monday 18th July, a seminar was held in the Houses of Parliament in London to talk about the harvesting of organs from living Falun Gong practitioners. The seminar was chaired by Lord Thurlow and one of the main speakers was David Kilgour, a former Canadian Secretary of State who recently published a report confirming that the Chinese Communist Party has been harvesting organs from Falun Gong practitioners.

On Saturday 15th July, UK Falun Gong practitioners held a press conference and parade in central London to let people know that Falun Gong has been persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) for seven years. After the press conference, the practitioners paraded through central London. The beautiful sunshine meant that the streets were crowded.

Vice President of the European Parliament, Mr. Edward McMillan-Scott, sent the conference a report about his investigation of the persecution of Falun Gong in Beijing. The host of the conference, the secretary of International Multiple Belief Organisation, Dr. Charles, said that what they need to do during this conference was to discuss the CCP's trade in organs harvested from Falun Gong practitioners, as well as whether the CCP has been lying about this issue and trying to cover up the truth.

In March 2003, I was illegally kidnapped by the Changchun City Police along with my colleagues Chen Jing and Wang Wei. The police forcibly tied us to specially-made steel chairs and forced us to answer questions. Chen Jing and Wang Wei were slapped by the police, and after having plastic bags put over their heads they were beaten by rods, whipped by belts and suffered other tortures like twisting the wrists.

Proposed by human rights activist Mr. Chen Shizhong and the person in charge of the Chinese Democratic Party Overseas Exile Headquarters, Mr. Xu Wenli, several dozen scholars and experts passed a resolution calling for a thorough investigation into the CCP's organ harvesting and calling for a withdrawal of charges against Wang Wenyi.

On May 30th, 2006, a press conference on the global view of religious freedom in China was held at the European Parliament. The organisers called on the Chinese government to evaluate China’s religious freedom and allow U.N. Special Rapporteur to investigate into forced labour camps.

Those present at the news conference included St. Petersburg human rights activists, representatives of the city government, historians, and representatives of social groups. Reporters of Summit Hours, a well-known newspaper in Russia, and a local newspaper also attended the news conference.

April 25th, 2006, was the seventh anniversary of the peaceful appeal staged by over ten thousand Falun Gong practitioners in China. Russian Falun Gong practitioners held a press conference at the Moscow Central House of Journalists to mark this incident with such a far-reaching significance in history and expose the CCP's persecution of Falun Gong practitioners.

A press conference revealed recent information about organ harvesting from live Falun Gong practitioners in Chinese labour camps. The attendants from the national media, including a TV channel whose reporter conducted an interview with the practitioners for the evening news programme, learned about the atrocities of the Chinese communist regime.

"We ... urge, above all, the Chinese government and Chinese Communist Party to say enough is enough, to bring to an end this horrific period of persecution which they know deep down goes against all principles of justice and fairness, and which in the end, if the CCP’s members continue to leave the party in the same numbers as they have in recent months, will result in the total eradication of their party. We sincerely hope they will see sense very soon."

Falun Gong practitioners from Manchester held a press conference outside the Chinese Consulate. The aim was to protest and inform the public about the Sujiatun Concentration Camp. They outlined the inhuman lengths the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is prepared to go to carry out former CCP leader Jiang Zemin’s order to “eradicate” Falun Gong.

Practitioners gathered in London to hold a press conference. They protested against the inhuman atrocities committed by the Chinese Communist Party who set up a secret concentration camp to kill Falun Gong practitioners and harvest their internal organs for profit.

On February 25th, eleven Falun Gong practitioners who had been granted asylum by Bodoe city government in Norway held a press conference at the International Centre in Bodoe to express their appreciation to the people and government of Norway. They were joined by Bodoe city media and some local residents.

On November 23rd, Danish practitioners gathered at the Chinese Embassy to read an announcement by the Falun Gong Association. It says, amongst other things, that all those who have committed crimes against Falun Gong but want now to correct their mistakes still have an opportunity to abandon the evil path and choose to be good.

On October 21st, Falun Gong practitioners held a press conference with famous Belgian human rights lawyer, George Henri Beauthier, who gave a status report on Falun Gong practitioners’ lawsuit against the “610 Office” on charges of telephone harassment. Hao Fenjun, the former 610 officer who has defected from the CCP, attended the conference.

On Thursday the 29th of September, at a press conference held in the office of William Bourdon, a famous lawyer in France disclosed that the related Chinese authorities refuse to co-operate with a Commission Rogatoire Internationale and a notice sent to them by Noria Faucherie, a law-officer from Tribunal de Grande Instance de Paris.

Held at Mr. Bourdon’s Paris office, the press conference exposed the Chinese authorities’ refusal to cooperate on a Commission Rogatoire Internationale (CRI) issued by Her Honourable Justice Noria Faucherie of the Tribunal de Grande Instance de Paris.

The CCP Procurator General Jia Chunwang was sued by Falun Gong practitioners for Crimes of Torture while he was taking part in the International Procurator General Association’s annual meeting on 28th August in Copenhagen. The Danish Falun Gong association held a press conference. All mainstream Danish media attended this conference.
