On February the 11th, the French Falun Dafa Association held a press conference to let the local media know about the behaviour of the French police and their irrational arrest and detention of practitioners on the streets of Paris. They appealed to the public to pay attention to this serious matter, which shows Jiang’s persecution extending to western society.

On February the 5th 2004, the French Falun Gong Association organised a press conference to announce that they would file a complaint against the arrest of Falun Gong practitioners by the French police, which occurred under tremendous pressure from Chinese officials during the Chinese New Year. The press conference was attended by five major national and international media organisations.

UK practitioners called upon the embassy staff to pass on the following message to the French government: During the official visit by Hu Jintao on January 28th, French police were poisoned by the Jiang regime’s relentless spread of its fabricated lies against Falun Gong and used excessive force to arrest and detain seven UK Falun Gong practitioners and practitioners from other countries.

On February 2 2004, the Finnish Falun Dafa Association held a press conference at Finlandia House in Helsinki in order to raise awareness about the international lawsuits that have been launched against the persecutors of Falun Gong. The Association also announced that it will take legal action immediately if any responsible person of the persecution of Falun Gong visits Finland.

The International Conference on 'Genocide in the New Era’, which was jointly held by the ‘International Advocates for Justice’ and ‘Friends of Falun Gong’, convened in Stockholm, Sweden, on January the 26th 2004. The conference was attended by eighteen international human rights groups, many famous human rights lawyers and a few social activists.

On January the 14th, the French Falun Gong Association was invited to the Senate in Paris for a press conference on human rights in China. Among the guests were Former Minister of Education Jack Lang, Amnesty International, Reporters Without Borders, ECPM (Together Against Capital Punishment), France Tibet and Chinese dissidents.

On the morning of January the 28th 2004, the French Falun Dafa Association held a press conference outside the Supreme Court in Paris. They announced that the Falun Gong practitioners who were badly treated and arrested during Hu Jintao’s Chinese New Year visit are preparing to sue the responsible French authorities.

On January the 28th, some delegates attending the international conference on ‘Genocide in the New Era’, together with practitioners from Europe, North America and Asia held a press conference at the Swedish Parliament, regarding the French Government’s treatment of Falun Gong and their kowtowing to Beijing. During the period of the Chinese New Year Parade and Hu Jintao’s visit to France, the Paris police unreasonably arrested several Falun Gong practitioners who did not do anything wrong.

As a result of pressure from China, permission for Falun Gong to hold activities during the Chinese New Year was withdrawn despite practitioners obtaining permission through proper legal channels. This has caused an infringement upon the public rights of a legal group in France. French Dafa practitioners held a press conference to expose the Chinese Embassy's actions.

Ireland student Liu Feng was detained in Dalian Forced Labour Camp because he is a Falun Gong practitioner. Recently, practitioners received information that Liu Feng has been released but is in hospital. This only occurs when a labour camp detainee has been tortured close to death and prison authorities intend to shift the blame away from themselves.

On December 30th 2003, a press conference was held in front of the Chinese Embassy in London to mourn the death of Liu Chengjun, a Falun Gong practitioner from the city of Changchun. UK practitioners appealed for an immediate investigation into Liu’s death, so that the murderers can be punished and the persecution brought to an end.

On the morning of the 17th of December 2003, around 40 Falun Gong practitioners from France, Germany, Belgium, Holland, and Switzerland, gathered in front of the European Parliament to hold a peaceful appeal to bring Jiang Zemin, the prime culprit of the campaign of persecution against Falun Gong, to justice in a court of law.

On 10th of December 2003, International Human Rights Day, Falun Gong practitioners held a press conference opposite the Chinese Embassy in London. Speeches were given by Lord Thurlow and by the Chairman of UK Falun Gong Association. Several statements issued by UK public figures in support of Falun Gong and condemnation of the persecution were read out

On November the 19th 2003, Falun Dafa practitioners in the Ukraine protested peacefully beside the Chinese Embassy and held a press conference to highlight the Chinese government’s persecution of Dafa practitioners. More than ten newspapers attended the press conference. Practitioners truly seized the opportunity to let the media know more about Falun Gong.

“The plaintiffs are 44 victims, including more than 10 Germans. The 90-page submission outlined the personal experiences of 15 victims who currently live outside the Chinese mainland and 800 plus torture cases that have resulted in death. Mr. Kaleck thinks the importance of this case is similar to that of the lawsuit against Augusto Pinochet and the on-going case against former Yugoslavian president Slobodan Milosevic.”

On November 24th, famous German criminal lawyer Wolfgang Kaleck held a press conference with the German Falun Dafa Association in Berlin, announcing that a lawsuit has been launched in Germany against the ex-president of China, along with fifteen other accomplices in his persecution of Falun Gong, charging him with torture crimes, genocide and crimes against humanity.

“In the labour camp, all tortures and cruel punishments carried out by the police are simply attempting to force Falun Gong practitioners to renounce their cultivation practice. My personal experience showed that the persecution towards Falun Gong is not due to any political reason or any illegal conduct of Falun Gong practitioners. It is purely a persecution of belief and human rights."

Being victims of genocide, Falun Gong practitioners attracted a lot of attention from the media. Reporters from four main TV channels, a few large newspapers, national radio and some news agencies were present at the conference. The press conference lasted for one hour, during which the reporters listened carefully and with interest.

Dafa practitioners filed a criminal lawsuit against Jiang Zemin and Luo Gan at the Spanish National Court on the October 15th. They then held a press conference, which was attended by "Reuters", Spain's "National Radio Station", Spain’s biggest news agency "El Pais", "Cado" magazine, "NTDTV" and others.

"My son suffered these tortures only because he practised Falun Gong – a cultivation practice which not only brought him good health and happiness, but also guided him to be a decent person. In other words, it was only because he insisted on his belief in “Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance.” That period was the most miserable time for us, since we worried about him every day, and we did not know what would become of him."

On the day after my arrival, I joined two practitioners in contacting the Swedish embassy in Madrid to tell them about the lawsuit, the persecution of Falun Gong in China and how China has extended the persecution to foreign countries. After explaining the facts to them, the staff wanted to know more and also wanted to attend the press conference that was to be held the day after the lawsuit was officially filed.

“The purpose of this lawsuit is to stop the persecution and guarantee that the crimes committed against Falun Gong practitioners will receive appropriate punishment. Since the start of the persecution in 1999, there have been between 800 and 2000 Falun Gong practitioners tortured to death and approximately 200,000 sent to labour camps.”

On 9th October, world-renowned human rights lawyer Mr Georges-Henri Beauthier and the Belgian Falun Dafa Association held a press conference regarding the decision made by the state prosecutor over a lawsuit filed against the Chinese dictator Jiang Zemin. Important media organisations were invited to the conference. A representative from the Belgian Falun Dafa Association made a statement in the conference and expressed their determination: "We will continue to provide proof of the genocide against Falun Dafa."

A-L Björneberg from the “International Women’s Organization for Freedom and Peace” strongly condemned the Chinese Consulate’s behaviour in Sweden. She said, “Such a thing happening in Sweden has made me feel angry. They are so afraid of Falun Gong that they even use these methods in our country to influence us.”

On the 4th of September 2003, Swiss Falun Gong practitioners held a press conference in Geneva, and announced that in order to be able to continue to speak on behalf of the hundreds of thousands of Falun Gong practitioners detained and tortured in China, Swiss citizens and victims of the persecution, have decided to take joint action against the Jiang regime to obtain compensation legally.

After submitting the lawsuit, European practitioners and Ragnar Adalsteinsson held a press conference outside of the Ministry of Justice only metres away from the building where Luo Gan was. The press conference was attended by Iceland media, including major newspapers, TV stations and radio stations.

An Australian practitioner whose husband was murdered because he practises Falun Gong, described the experiences of her family and called on the Chinese government to end the persecution. This was eagerly noted by the reporters who later interviewed practitioners. The most influential media in Spain took part in this press conference.

Our lawsuit is the 11th international lawsuit to emerge in the last two years against Chinese government officials or entities for their role in the persecution of Falun Gong. Three of these lawsuits in the United States have already handed down judgements against Chinese officials for torture and other crimes committed in the persecution of Falun Gong.

But the real terror of Jiang's genocidal policy towards Falun Gong is not found merely in the number of dead or the number of imprisoned. What Jiang unleashed in July 1999 was a horrific form of genocide that not only seeks to "physically destroy" 70-100 million people because they believe in "Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance", but has sought to destroy that belief itself.

On the 20th of August, Belgian Falun Gong practitioners organised a press conference about the lawsuit against China’s dictator Jiang Zemin, at the Federation Court in Brussels, the capital of Belgium. Major Dutch and Belgian media organisations attended the conference. Outside the court, Falun Gong practitioners’ peaceful demonstrations of the exercises also attracted media attention.

"Wu Jiang severely accused Jiang Zemin of using the cruellest, meanest, and dirtiest violence to persecute millions of Falun Gong practitioners. He also represented the China Democratic Party in paying the highest respects to all Falun Gong practitioners for surviving through the cold winter of 4 years of persecution and passing through this terror."

"On behalf of the Chinese Democratic Party, I would like to express my sincere respect to all the Falun Gong practitioners. Over the last four years, Jiang Zemin and the “610 Office” have employed the most cruel, base and despicable means to torture and persecute Falun Gong...He is guilty of the most heinous crimes which are beyond description."

The Global Coalition for Bringing Jiang to Justice is an international alliance organized by groups and individuals who believe in justice and care about China’s future, and by those who have suffered persecution under Jiang’s dictatorship. The coalition’s mission is to engage all righteous people, expose every crime committed by Jiang, and bring Jiang to the court of law, as well as the court of world opinion, which is based on human morality and justice.

A representative of the French-Tibet Association stated that they joined the protest against Article 23 in Hong Kong without reservation. Their statement also said that since 1997, when Hong Kong was taken over by China, the Jiang regime has destroyed Hong Kong people’s basic freedom in spite of the “One Country, Two Systems” promise, and Falun Gong has been increasingly suppressed.

"Two years ago, when I was jailed in a Chinese labour camp, you were standing up and speaking out for my release. Now I am free and I’m here standing up together with you to campaign for other people’s freedom. Isn’t this encouraging? This shows that the righteous force for justice and human rights is expanding and the evil force of persecution has been suppressed."

To support the enormous parade through Hong Kong to protest against Article 23, the European branch of the Global Coalition Against Article 23 Legislation held a rally. Many German people learned about the HK parade through German media reports. At this rally, they found out more about the persecutory nature of Article 23 and signed their names to oppose it.

A representative of the Irish Falun Dafa Association made a speech pointing out that Jiang Zemin has constantly abused his power over the past four years in trying to eradicate Falun Gong. Jiang has employed torture, slaughter, rape and other criminal activities in his campaign of state terrorism. Therefore, he has to take full responsibility for the persecution against Falun Gong practitioners.

On June 11 2002, IcelandAir refused to let Falun Gong practitioners board aeroplanes heading to Iceland after a request from the Icelandic government, through utilising a blacklist of Falun Gong practitioners provided by the Chinese Government. Falun Gong practitioners were travelling to Iceland to participate in an appeal against Jiang Zemin, who was on a state visit to the country. Other Falun Gong practitioners were detained in Reykjavik airport on arrival, and were not allowed to enter Iceland.

The Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Swedish Ambassador in Thailand delivered an official note, requesting an “immediate explanation” from the Thai authorities. As of May 30th, the Thai government still had not provided an explanation as to why Mrs. Svensson had been detained.

Among those present were journalists from the biggest newspaper in Gothenburg, and TV station Västnytt. The Chairman of Sweden’s Association for Human Rights was also at the press conference and showed great enthusiasm. He asked several questions and revealed that he hopes to begin working together with Falun Gong practitioners to end the persecution in China.

Practitioners listed the crimes committed by Jiang Zemin, including abuse of power and embezzling national funds to persecute Falun Gong. They also let the public understand the meaning and importance of bringing Jiang to justice on the grounds of morality, conscience and law. One Swedish journalist stated, “We should not wait while facing this kind of persecution. We should take action immediately and tell the world’s people.”

"Baolian is one of the many thousands of unlawfully detained Falun Gong practitioners in China. The persecution in China is still going on. As far as we know, thousands of practitioners have been incarcerated in mental hospitals and abused. Many hundreds have been sentenced to up to eighteen years imprisonment. More than 600 Falun Gong practitioners have died whilst in police custody. Many of them were badly tortured."

"I worry constantly about her safety. Every day I read about practitioners being subjected to severe physical, mental and sexual abuses and I dread to think what Yongjie might have suffered. She is a sweet-natured person who always thinks of others first and would never hurt anyone. She has not committed any wrongdoings and poses no danger to anyone. She does not belong in a labour camp that is meant for criminals. It is an insult to human dignity to put good people in those places."

On April 25th 2003, Falun Gong practitioners met at the Chinese Embassy in London and held a press conference as part of the worldwide activities on this day. Practitioners sent forth righteous thoughts at the top of every hour to support the lawsuit against Chinese dictator Jiang Zemin, instigator of the persecution against Falun Gong.

"The SARS tragedy demonstrates the Chinese regime’s willingness to lie and spread propaganda for its own self-interest, even when the lives of millions are at stake. For almost four years, we have witnessed this regime severely persecute Falun Gong and then lie and spread propaganda to the world to cover it up. It’s the same pattern, and it poses an extraordinary threat not just to China but also to the world."

"As long as the illegal persecution of innocent people continues, we will continue to make open and peaceful appeals. These appeals have received support from a large number of citizens and VIPs in political circles of this country. We hope that last year’s violation of human rights can be atoned for by way of a serious apology, and we can try to stop this persecution together.”

During Jiang Zemin's state visit to Germany in 2002, Falun Gong practitioners' constitutional rights were infringed upon by German federal agents and the Berlin police. Recently, practitioners have been planning to file lawsuits against the German federal police's actions, to the administrative courts in Berlin and other areas. The goal of the lawsuits is to establish facts of human rights transgressions against Falun Gong practitioners during Jiang's state visit in Germany in April 2002, so as to prevent such acts in the future.

The Chairman of the "Global Coalition Against Article 23" said that although the wording of article 23 had changed, the vicious motive for depriving Hong Kong residents of their freedom had been retained. He also reiterated “We are not going to discuss how to modify Article 23, but we completely don’t want Article 23."
